The truth?
These titles are not regulated, standardized or recognized by healthcare in Canada.
That means:
❌ there are no minimum education requirements
❌ no standardized curriculum
❌ no licensing examination
❌ no governing body
❌ no accountability to a healthcare regulator
❌ and no requirement for medical training at all
In medical aesthetics, titles can sound impressive while telling you very little about a person’s actual qualifications.
Patients deserve to understand the difference between:
• regulated healthcare professionals
• unregulated providers
• certified training
• weekend courses
• marketing language
• legally protected titles
Because injecting prescription drugs and operating medical devices is not the same as selling skincare or cosmetics.
Before any treatment, ask:
✔️ Are you regulated by a healthcare college?
✔️ What is your actual professional designation?
✔️ Who prescribes the medications?
✔️ Who manages complications?
✔️ What formal medical education do you have?
A title alone does not equal competency.
