May the next key you hold be the key to something you once cried and prayed for. 🔑🏡

May God open doors nobody can shut.

That house you’ve been praying for.
That job.
That baby.
That approval.
That breakthrough you’ve almost given up on…May God give you a reason to say FINALLY IT HAPPENED!

As soon as you enter the labour and delivery room and see this… 🥹❤️

Suddenly, all the pain, sleepless nights and discomfort feel so small compared to the thought that you’re finally about to meet the little person you’ve loved for so long without ever seeing their face. 🥺❤️

I USED TO THINK ONLY WICKED AUNTIES HAD THIS. 😭NOW LOOK AT ME🤦🏽‍♂️

Growing up, anytime I saw an auntie with those few stubborn strands of hair on her chin, I automatically assumed she was WICKED. 😭

I don’t even know who taught me this theory, but in my little mind:

Chin hair = mean auntie. 😂

Well… life has come for me.

Because tell me WHY I’m now seeing those same strands casually growing on MY OWN chin?? 😭😭😭

Now every time I pluck one, I have to remind myself:

“You are NOT wicked. This is just hair.” 😭😂

Please tell me I wasn’t the only unserious child. 😂

What was ONE thing you saw on older people growing up that made you think, “God forbid!”… but now it has started happening to YOU? 😭👇

Also, if you also believed the chin-hair aunties were wicked, CONFESS BELOW. I need to know how many of us owe those women an apology. 😂😂

This is one postpartum experience we don’t hear about often.

Some women may notice painful, pus-filled boils or abscesses around areas like the lower belly, groin or upper thighs in the weeks after delivery.

But here’s the interesting part…

Are abscesses actually a normal postpartum change or is something else going on? 👀

They’re not considered a normal part of postpartum recovery, although things like increased sweating, moisture, friction, shaving and irritated hair follicles may contribute to skin infections.

Mamas, did you experience anything like this after giving birth? 😳👇🏾

🇳🇬🇨🇦 NIGERIANS IN CANADA, COME CLOSER… I genuinely need to understand something. 👀

Last week, I met a fellow Nigerian. We exchanged greetings and barely got into the conversation before the questions started.

And somehow, they were all leading to ONE thing…

My immigration status. 😳

PR? Citizen? Work permit? Student?

But WHY do you need to know that before you even know me?

Are you checking because you want to know what you can benefit from them? Or have you had a bad experience before and you’re simply being careful?

Either way, someone’s status shouldn’t be one of the first things you try to find out.

I’ve heard people complain about this a lot, and I have also experienced it myself especially among Nigerians in Canada and the UK.

Get to know the PERSON first. Status can come later.

Nigerians abroad: Why do you think some people are so interested in knowing your immigration status when they’ve barely met you? And has someone ever treated you differently after finding out your status? 👀👇🏽

ARE MOTHERS COMPLAINING TOO MUCH? 😳

Sometimes I catch myself wondering…

While we’re saying, “Motherhood is exhausting. These kids are stressing me. I need a break!” 😩

There’s a woman somewhere praying, crying and begging God, “Please, just give me ONE child.” 🥺

And it makes me wonder… have we become so consumed by the stress that we sometimes forget what a HUGE blessing it is to even be called “Mummy”?

But then again…

Does someone else desperately wanting what I have mean I’m not allowed to admit that what I have is HARD?

Because motherhood can be a blessing AND still be exhausting.

You can love your children deeply and still need a break.

You can be grateful and still feel overwhelmed.

Maybe the balance is simply this:

Express the struggle without despising the blessing. ❤️

But I really want to hear from MOTHERS on this one 👇🏽

Where do YOU draw the line?

When does “I’m just expressing how hard motherhood is” start sounding like constant complaining and ungratefulness?

And should TTC women even be considered when mothers talk about how exhausting parenting is?👇🏽

Why does my mind suddenly start creating 100 different scenarios whenever vaccination day is approaching? 😭

You KNOW you’re going to vaccinate your child… but there’s still that tiny voice saying:

“But what if something happens?”

And if you’ve ever witnessed your child react badly after a vaccine before? That fear hits differently.

Then you start thinking…

“Okay, what if I DON’T vaccinate and something happens because I didn’t?”

Ahhh! 😩 Motherhood is really just making decisions and then worrying about the decisions you made.

I can’t be the only one.

Mamas, are you completely fine on vaccination day, or does your mind start doing overtime too? 👀👇
