In celebration of world autism day I’m posting this little guy!
Holt is one of my regulars and it’s been a journey cutting lil man’s hair, his very first cut was very overwhelming. Not for me, but for holt it was a struggle as he is very sensitive to the sound of the motor and vibration of our clippers. Although I work with clippers and trimmers that are more on the quiet side, it can still be sensory overload for him.
I just worked with him, held his hand, gave him my comb and phone to help him get at ease. Although the haircut was very successful it definitely took a couple of visit before he got at ease. His mother also helped a lot by using a little mechanical facial scrubber at home to help him get used to the vibration, little by little we were able to achieve this moment. Where he looks forward to getting his hair cut and with a smile the entire time.
So proud to call my self his barber, seeing him grow is amazing and looking forward to the ears to come!
