There are two kinds of extension wearers in this world, and I want to know which one you are 👀

You're proud of your extensions and happy to say it out loud. You won't necessarily lead with it, but if someone says "OMG your hair is GORGEOUS," you'll smile and say "thank you, it's not even mine!" 😂 That's me. I have zero problem telling people my hair is fake.

Your extensions are classified information. Nobody gets the details, and you'd take it to the grave. And honestly? Totally fine! Your hair, your rules, and you have the receipt to prove it lol 🧾

No judgment on either side. The best part is that when extensions are installed and blended right, nobody can tell anyway 😉

Book #27 of my 50 books in 9 months challenge is Shoe Dog by Phil Knight 📚

This was a long one to listen to, over 13 hours of audio, but it was so interesting that I didn't mind at all 🎧

Shoe Dog is the memoir of Nike's co-founder, and it tells the story of how the company started. It began in 1962 with a young Phil Knight, a $50 loan from his dad, and a crazy idea to import athletic shoes from Japan. The company was originally called Blue Ribbon Sports, and Nike didn't come along until later.

This wasn't an overnight success. For years the company was constantly short on cash, fighting with banks, and dealing with legal battles and betrayals along the way. Nike came close to failing more than once, and the book shows how much perseverance, a loyal team, and a little bit of crazy it took to keep going.

Behind every big brand is a messy, stressful, uncertain beginning, and that's a good reminder when you're in the middle of building something of your own 💪

Long listen, but so worth it. Definitely recommend it for any entrepreneur.

From purple to pitch black 😂🖤

I first installed Brittany's extensions at the beginning of August. Her hair was purple, and she actually custom-colored the extensions herself to create the perfect matching purple shade. The result was absolutely gorgeous!

Then Brittany came back for her maintenance appointment this week... with BLACK hair! 😂

She got tired of maintaining the purple, so she decided to color both her natural hair and her extensions black while they were still installed. LOL, the commitment!

Completed her maintenance this week, and moving forward, she's officially team all-black-hair... for now! 🖤

I took a 3-hour nap yesterday 😴

I was "off" yesterday, meaning no clients booked at the salon, but I had a whole list of things planned. Spoiler alert: that list did NOT go as planned, and I'm not even mad about it.

Got the kids ready and dropped off at school, came back home to an empty house, and made myself a nice brunch, omelettes and fried plantains (if you know, you know 😉). I ate while reviewing some videos my editors started sending over from last week's shoot. They are SO GOOD so far! Sent back a few revision notes and closed my laptop feeling productive.

That's where things took a turn...

I was supposed to clean the house and meal prep for the freezer. Instead? I called my cleaning company and booked their next opening (outsourcing, hello), set an alarm on my phone, and went to sleep. Like, actually went to sleep around noon and didn't wake up until 3:30pm when that alarm saved me. If my alarm hadn't gone off, I'm fully convinced I would've slept until the next morning 😅

Woke up, freshened up, picked the kids up from school, fed everyone, made a few stops at The Home Depot and Canadian Tire, made chicken and shrimp for dinner, and took my oldest to soccer practice. Just a normal evening like nothing happened lol

I didn't get through my whole to-do list yesterday, and I have zero regrets. I felt so well rested, and whatever didn't get done? I'll happily outsource it. That Thursday nap might just have been the best part of my whole week. Might need to make this a regular thing 💤🖤

New hair for Toni, and the newest member of my VIP family! 🎉

Boss lady Toni came in a few weeks ago for a consultation, and together we landed on a gorgeous chemical-free ombré.

Yesterday was installation day. We were both so impressed by how naturally the colors blended with her own hair. 😍

I installed 2 full rows of my signature EXTENSIONISTA WEAVE using 150 grams of extensions.

Toni also decided to join my VIP membership since it made more sense for her, smart move, Toni! 😉

We chatted a lot about business too, since Toni also runs her own business. Always love connecting with fellow boss ladies.

Today is going to be a busy one, and honestly, what a great way to end the month of September! 🍂

Starting with Toni at 10am for her very FIRST set of hair extensions with me! We're planning a chemical-free ombre with extensions, and I am so excited for this one ✨

Then VIP member Heidi at 12:30 for her last appointment of this membership round. We'll renew her membership for the 3rd time at her next appointment in November, love the loyalty 🖤

Next up, Cara at 3pm. I've been doing Cara's extensions for so many years now. She's not on a VIP membership, but she is absolutely a VIP in my eyes 💛

And finally, the lovely Brittany at 5pm for extension maintenance with a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment to finish the day off right.

New hair for this lovely birthday girl! 🎂

Karen spent part of her birthday at the salon with me yesterday, getting a brand new set of extensions and FINALLY joining my VIP membership! 🎉🎉

I have been doing Karen's extensions since 2017, maybe even earlier, but my records only go back that far. That's almost 10 years, CONSISTENTLY, no breaks!

Karen is such a beautiful soul with so much knowledge and wisdom.

Tray is set, tools are laid out, and the extensions are ready to go. It might just look like scissors, clips, and combs, but in the right hands these tools create some seriously amazing transformations ✨
