February 17 marks the Chinese New Year — and with it comes a whole new energy. We’re officially moving from the Year of the Snake into the Year of the Horse.

The Year of the Snake wasn’t easy.
It made a lot of us face things we avoided.
It forced truth to surface.
It showed us who was real, what was aligned, and what had to go.

Snake year asked us to slow down, reflect, feel deeply, and release what no longer fits. It wasn’t always gentle. A lot of lessons came through discomfort.

Some of us lost people.
Some of us lost parts of ourselves.
Some of us had to rebuild from places we never expected.

You outgrow old versions of yourself.
You release habits, relationships, beliefs, and cycles that once felt normal.
You stop tolerating what drains you.
You start protecting your peace differently and that’s growth.

Now as we move into the Year of the Horse, the energy shifts. This season is about movement, courage, freedom, and forward momentum. It’s about taking everything you learned and finally stepping forward instead of standing still.

This isn’t about rushing.
It’s about progress.

It’s about trusting yourself again.
Choosing yourself.
Showing up even when you’re tired.
Building even when it feels slow.
Believing even when things aren’t fully clear yet.

If you feel different lately… that’s healing.
If you feel quieter… that’s clarity.
If you feel stronger… that’s because you survived what almost broke you.

Bonnie is a committed advocate for holistic wellness and Indigenous traditions, serving as a Board Director for a non-profit organization focused on community healing and cultural preservation. Bonnie pursued formal training in massage therapy, completing a rigorous 3,000-hour program at Makami College from 2015 to 2017. As a Registered Massage Therapist, she has dedicated years to clinical practice, supporting over 30 clients weekly with personalized care for pain relief, tension reduction, and chronic condition management.

Her passion extends to traditional practices, including crystal therapy with directional stones, guided meditations and sacred drumming to connect with spirit animals, life cycle readings aligned with seasonal symbolism, and aura cleansing through smudging. Bonnie actively engages in community ceremonies, studies Shamanic Medicine, and cherishes family time with her children, all while guiding the non-profit's initiatives in holistic health education and cultural revitalization.
