No hard feelings, here we go.
The scale will not dictate your success. WHO cares what weight you used to be or want to be. You need to focus on your behaviours. Are you behaving like a healthy, strong, health focused person? Are you checking off your habits that make you feel good? Are you getting stronger? Are you seeing progress?
If you are not losing weight, you are not in a deficit. No matter how mad people get at this, it’s the definition of deficit. Sometimes this is because of inaccurate tracking, extra snacking, bites and mindless behaviours. Sometimes it’s because the cal goal is not a deficit.
You have to work HARD at your training to make significant progress. Movement is amazing, showing up is half the battle, half assed workouts build consistency and “show up” mentality. But, to build muscle, get stronger, jump, sprint, do cool s**t and push your progress, you have to push your body. This doesn’t mean doing random workouts it means being strategic, mindful, and exerting yourself beyond what your perception of tough is to a level of what is exertion for your body to see progress.
It’s usually your diet , you don’t need more or different training. Don’t be mad. Sorry. Not always. But based on my experience, usually.
YOU NEED TO RECOVER. Sleep, food, rest, mobility, calming TF down. All play a huge role in fitness progress. I know, we’re all stressed, do what you can to support your recovery.
You should be uncomfortable. Training that creates change is not comfy. Changing s**tty habits to good ones sucks. Doing things you never did is scary and feels big. It won’t feel good, at first. It’s ok, you got this.
Motivation is stupid, I hate the word itself 😆 plz don’t let motivation dictate your behaviour. You will seldom want to do all the things you need to but it doesn’t mean you get to skip it. Show up regardless of feelings.

My coaching philosophy is that fitness shouldn’t be your entire personality.
As a mom of two little kids and a business owner with a packed schedule, there are so many days I’m doing this thing tired. I’ve been pregnant and postpartum with a newborn that doesn’t sleep. I’ve dealt with illness and weeks out you didn’t plan for. I know the demand of a schedule that continues to change.
I’ve been in this industry for over 18 years, competing, doing trade shows, coaching and learning. One lesson that’s remained throughout my career is the importance of basics.
I’m getting in those steps with you, drinking my water, getting sunlight, lifting weights until I can lift more weights, hydrating my body, sleeping and managing stress. I work hard to keep these up but some days you drop a ball and that is ok!
I know we love a shiny package with a pretty bow but the reality of long term, sustainable, evidence based fitness is that basics work, there is no magic potion, your daily habits are what matter most.
I understand my clients have lives outside of the gym. They have birthday parties to attend, girls nights to enjoy, late nights squeezed in because that’s the only time they get.
It’s easy to look fit for a short period of time, it’s difficult to BE fit for life.
Your lifestyle should enhance your life not break you…but you must also understand that that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy.
If you’re breaking old habits it’s going to suck, but you can do it!
Commit to your health long term. Build muscle so you’re strong and able. Learn to run, jump, move with ease. Nourish your body so you’re not tired all the time. Take care of yourself and the vanity part with come- but don’t let that drive you.
We’re in this thing together and we’re in it for life ❤️
