I received a beautiful card from the family of a client who recently passed away. I’ve read it more than once, and each time, I cry.
Sometimes people think of us as “just” the hairdresser, the next-door neighbour, or the lady at the grocery store. But when you see someone regularly for years, you notice when they’re having a hard day. You remember their stories. You ask about their family. And when they’re gone, you feel the empty space they leave behind.
I’m so grateful her family knew she mattered to me, too. Thank you for taking a moment, in the middle of your own grief, to send me that card. I will treasure it, and I will miss her. ❤️
