Cell turnover happens every 28-45 days depending on our bodies metabolism and those cells are a reflection of many things going on internally and externally. Anytime I’m dealing with problem skin and inflammation I dive pretty deep into your habits, diet, stress, what you’re doing at home, how much sleep you’re getting and so on. It’s always better to get a detailed scope of your life so we can narrow in on possible causes. From there we can add, subtract or adjust any variable from that current routine.

I had the pleasure of meeting this client over the weekend and she was really seeking a shift. She felt stuck, like nothing was getting better, and felt her skin could even be getting worse.

We did a very active treatment to start the purging process. It can be a bit sensitive but it’s only temporary. We also did a thorough manual extraction. This can also be a bit painful, but I do try to keep it as painless as possible. Since her skin was also inflamed extractions needed to be precise. I only targeted those which would come out easily. Never extract when you may cause scarring, that’s what actives are for. As you can see the inflammation has decreased substantially and many deeper blemishes have surfaced. This was my goal and she responded beautifully. She will be continuing using actives in her home care and will see me every 6-8 weeks. Results take time but it’s all very possible.

She is very committed so we have also switched up her routine from a popular professional brand Skinceuticals, to my personal favourites ZO and Environ. Nothing against Skinceuticals but when something isn’t working, change it. This could be said about any brand of skincare or anything in general!

Note: I always recommend doing this treatment 7-10 days before an event - and a series is always better than one. If you have a special event (wedding) I would recommend starting treatment 8-10 months ahead of the date. That budgets time for a couple intense treatments and maintenance.

Obsessed is an understatement!!

Refreshing and regenerating the orbital area is one of my most favourite things to do. This kind of change makes a huge difference even though it’s subtle. The eyes are the window to the soul and can show signs of aging even though we aren’t “old” 👵🏼👴🏻

These progress photos are everything! The first photo was mid treatment (I almost forgot to take this pic 🥴😳) and the second is over a month healed. She does have some eye shadow on in the second photo but you can see how smooth and tight her skin is compared to the previous picture.

These results will continue to improve for 90 days post treatment, after that she could opt for another round if it was desired.

Together we came up with a home care plan based on lifestyle and budget, completed a series of in clinic treatments and continue to address her goals and concerns.

There is a process. First, we needed to heal her barrier and address the inflammation. It took some time but we got there. Once we had that area under control we could address some of the scarring and pigment concerns. The photo on the right is day 1 after her first round of microneedling.
