Baobab oil is one of those ingredients that instantly feels special the moment you work with it. Rich in omega fatty acids, sterols, and vitamins A & E, it helps support the skin barrier, improve moisture retention, and soften the look of dryness and rough texture- all while remaining incredibly lightweight on the skin.

Its naturally rich golden-yellow colour comes from the nutrient density of the oil itself, a beautiful indicator of the carotenoids and antioxidant compounds found within the baobab seed.

I love using baobab in my formulations because it gives the skin a velvety, conditioned feel without heaviness or residue. It adds depth and cushion to a blend while still allowing the oils to absorb beautifully into the skin.

10 years.

Honestly, when I showed up to my very first market in May of 2016 with my little bottles of oil, I had absolutely no idea what would happen. I didn’t know if anyone would stop at my table, if people would connect with what I was creating, or if Jennifer Joan would grow into something real.

And somehow… here we are. Ten years later.

What started as a small idea has quietly grown into something I’m endlessly proud of. It didn’t happen overnight, virally, or with a lot of hooplah, but slowly, steadily, and with so much heart behind it.

The biggest gift through all of this has truly been all of the beautiful people I’ve met along the way. So many of you I met face-to-face at markets over the years. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning (which honestly still blows my mind). You’ve supported my brand in the kindest ways possible- returning again and again, sharing JJ with your friends and family, sending thoughtful messages, stopping by to say hello and chat, trusting me with your skin and your routines.

That kind of support is never lost on me.

And while the business has grown over the years, so much of it is still very personal. I still genuinely love the process- the formulating, blending, bottling, labeling, packaging orders in my happy studio. Creating these oils and products has never felt like “work” to me in the traditional sense. It’s something I deeply love doing.

So thank you. Truly. For allowing me to do this for ten whole years.

I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead... new products, new ideas, and continuing to grow this beautiful JJ community we’ve built together.

Imperfect skin is often sensitive skin.

When I formulated our Imperfect Face Oil, I wanted to create something that could support blemish-prone skin without stripping or overwhelming it.
