Laser vs Sugaring: Which hair removal method is right for you?

Both treatments are effective, but they work best for different needs.

Laser hair removal is best for you if:
• You want long-term hair reduction
• Your hair is darker than your skin
• You are tired of shaving or waxing regularly
• You want smoother skin with no ingrown hairs

Sugaring may be better for you if:
• Your hair is very light or grey (laser cannot target these hairs)
• You are pregnant (including IVF)
• You have lots of tattoos in the area that you want to get treated
• You are going to sunbathe in 2 weeks or earlier

Why can hair grow after 3–4 laser sessions?

Hair grows in cycles, and laser hair removal works best during the anagen phase — the active growth stage. However, not all hair follicles are in this phase at the same time.

After several treatments, some follicles that were previously dormant can enter the anagen phase and start producing new hair. This is a natural biological process and does not mean the treatment isn’t working.

This is why laser hair removal is done in multiple sessions — each treatment targets a new group of hairs in their active growth phase, leading to gradual and long-term hair reduction.
