These lip balm flavours cost me 3x more than the “natural” ones I used before.
So why switch?
Because “natural” is a claim.
Certified organic is a standard.
Flavour oils can contain undisclosed components (like phthalates). Certification means third-party auditing, restricted inputs, and real traceability—not just a supplier’s word.
And since lip balm goes on your lips (and into your body), I’m particular.
Not out of fear.
Just alignment.

I might have recently become obsessed with soap making. So far my all-time favourite has been a super bubbly and gentle unscented oat milk bar, pictured bottom right. The Pine pitch and clay bar is a close second. I haven’t tried the Sea Buckthorn & Calendula version (middle row, second from right) yet so that might change!
I’ll be selling all R&D bars for $10/lb (below cost), once they’re done curing. Local pickup only.
Right now in the Kootenays, the river rises before the forest greens.
Snow is melting upstream. Cold runoff moves first. The ground softens. Roots awaken before leaves ever show. This is late winter - not fully rest, not yet growth - but the exact moment between the two.
