Hello 2026!

Thinking about making some changes, creating a menu, adding some flexibility & drop-in-ability.

Hmmm…
Brainstorming the possibilities :)

Spring has sprung early this year!

There’s still plenty of snow up high but not a patch left on the ground in Renata…

Looking forward to another gorgeous set of warm seasons in a version of Canadian Paradise with new health and adventure oriented offerings!

Details to follow… on Kootenay Time of course :)

Beautiful days!

Big FOOD nights to feed the Hungry Hard Firesmart Crew - Yay Wildhorse Forestry!

Fun with dogs.

November, here we come!

Last night I received one of the most heartwarming compliments I’ve ever received about my home & business.

Gina of Wildhorse Forestry said “This place feels like a big warm hug.”

Made me melt just a little inside 🙂

The Wildhorse crew is here for the next few weeks to Firesmart 5.8 hectares of Crown land in our little village of Renata. It’s been a 2 year process of grant application & acceptance, community consultations, development of a Treatment Plan with a fantastic Forester, more community engagement, tendering of bids to local companies, choosing Wildhorse for their willingness to work WITH our community, and now, finally, as of October 15 we are Boots on Ground and creating a buffer zone to the North for future wildfire safety.

With a bit of luck, and if this goes smoothly, hopefully this will open the door to higher levels of funding from the province and in time, augment the Fireguard that was put in during the 2018 Syringa Fire Complex.

A big thank you to The Columbia Basin Trust, our Forester Tove Pashkowski, Dylan Henderson of Wildhorse Forestry, and to our community for helping make this happen.

Let’s do this!!
