Wow what an experience for Betty-Lynn Mugridge!
This is a great reminder to dental hygienists in PEI that their membership with us and CDHA makes them an IFDH member as well.
The CDHA Board of directors elects two delegates to attend these events . There has been Canadian dental hygienists elected to its board and even be President.
IFDH newsletters are shared with you regularly from CDHA and you can attend their virtual AGM and Continuing Education sessions for points. But the opportunity to attend in person must have been amazing.

What an incredible experience attending the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene 2026 in Milan, Italy! 🇮🇹🦷
I had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading dental hygiene professionals, researchers, and educators. It was inspiring to hear about the latest evidence-based practices, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches that are shaping the future of our profession.
One of my favourite parts of the conference was connecting with dental hygienists from around the world. It was a reminder that, no matter where we practice, we all share the same goal: improving oral health and providing the best possible care for our patients!
As a lifelong learner, I believe continuing education is one of the greatest investments I can make, not only in myself, but in the patients who trust me with their care. I’m returning home with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and plenty of inspiration! ☺️
A huge thank you to the organizers and speakers for putting together such an exceptional event. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I’m grateful to have represented Prince Edward Island on the international stage.
Now it’s time to put everything I’ve learned into practice! 💙🦷

PEIDHA wishes to congratulate Island Dental Hygiene for expanding their business and achieving their goals bringing dental hygiene services to Islanders.
We have some exciting news to share!
Island Dental Hygiene now has a new office located at 28C Myrtle Street in Stratford.
This bright, welcoming space gives us a home base for our mobile dental hygiene operations while also allowing us to offer appointments in a clinic setting.
You may have noticed that we’ve recently updated our name and logo. While our look has changed, our commitment to bringing dental hygiene care directly to Islanders has not.
Over the years, we’ve heard from many people that finding and accessing dental hygiene care is becoming increasingly difficult. Because oral health is such an important part of overall health, our goal remains the same: helping more Islanders get the care they need in a way that works for them.
If you’re one of our existing mobile clients, don’t worry. We are still very much on the road and will continue providing mobile dental hygiene services across PEI. We will also continue visiting a number of long-term care homes on a regular schedule.
Having a permanent space simply gives us another way to serve our community and helps us continue growing our services.
We are now booking appointments for the summer.
To book an appointment, give us a call, send a text, email us, reach out through Facebook Messenger, or use our online booking system.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Opening this office is something we’ve been working toward for a long time, and we’re excited to see where it takes us next!

The CDHA Board annually recognizes deserving members with several awards, and any CDHA member who is a dental hygienist is eligible for nomination. If you are familiar with someone who deserves recognition, we encourage you to review the criteria on the provided link and consider submitting a nomination.
Acknowledging hard work and dedication is essential, so if you believe you meet the requirements, discuss it with a colleague.
Past award winners, who can be found listed on the website, have expressed the significance of being recognized, and get the opportunity to meet in person at conferences.
Make this year the opportunity for someone you know to receive this honor.
