The Refined Barber

A situation happened this morning that has really been on my mind.

A gentleman booked an appointment online, and because I am no longer accepting new clients, I cancelled it as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately, the cancellation notification never reached him on his phone (looking into why this happened), and he arrived expecting his appointment. He was understandably disappointed, and I felt terrible.

I never want anyone to feel turned away, and I am truly grateful to everyone who recommends me or tries to refer new clients my way.

I’ve been sharing since last summer that I am no longer accepting new clients. As a one-woman business, a mom, a spouse, and someone balancing a busy work and home life, I have reached my maximum capacity.

After more than 20 years behind the chair, I am fortunate to have a full schedule and a wonderful, loyal clientele. I am at a point in my career where I feel comfortable maintaining the client base I have and focusing on serving them well.

To my clients: thank you for your continued support and trust. And to those who have reached out or been referred to me, thank you for thinking of me and for your understanding.

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the delay in replying to messages.

This past week has been a difficult and very full one for my family. We had to say goodbye to our family dog Rider on Monday, which has been incredibly hard. On top of that, I’ve been juggling kids’ activities, helping coach basketball, and preparing for an upcoming, much needed break.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. I will be catching up on messages as soon as I can.

Currently then information you see on my booking site is correct there are no appointments available until later April.

✨ A Little Update from Me ✨

Over the past year, there have been a few behind-the-scenes changes, and I wanted to officially share them here.

After closing the original Refined Barbershop and moving into my own private space, I made the decision to simplify and rebrand. As of recently, I’ve transitioned from “Refined Barbershop” to “The Refined Barber”, now operating as a sole proprietor. This change better reflects how I’ve been working since May 2025.

The good news? Nothing about your appointments or my day-to-day operations is changing.
The biggest updates are:
• A new website: www.therefinedbarber.ca
• Updated online booking through the new site
• Preferred communication via text (the same number you receive reminders from) and this page, which I’ll be updating over the next ew weeks.
