Hi there! I’m Amy Carter, your 2027 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen! 💜

I’m 17 years old and a recent graduate of St. Timothy High School. I’m now attending Mount Royal University, pursuing my Bachelor of Nursing with the goal of becoming a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

I’ve called Cochrane home since I was one, and becoming the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen is truly a dream come true. I’ve always loved horses, rodeo and the western way of life, and I can’t wait to represent the community I’m so proud to call home!

A few fun facts about me:
🐴 I have two rescue horses, Dolly and Katie!
🐾 I’m a huge animal lover — my house is home to a dog, cats, a snake, a bearded dragon, bunnies, guinea pigs and a budgie!
🏀 I love sports and played basketball, badminton, cross country and track & field in high school.
✈️ I love travelling and exploring new places.
🏕️ When I’m not riding, you’ll find me hiking, camping or paddleboarding!

I’m so excited for the year ahead and all the people, places and experiences that come with it. I can’t wait to meet you along the way!

Day 3 of the 60th Annual Cochrane Lions Rodeo, but the first day officially wearing the crown as your 2027 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen, Amy Carter. 💜

Between recognizing talented members of our community, helping surprise a young lady with her wish to go to Disney, and presenting the Make-A-Wish Foundation with $30,000 alongside our friends at Slimdor, I took in my very first day as your 2027 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen.

What a day to remember! 💜

If you’ve dreamed of representing the Cochrane Lions Rodeo, this is your chance.

We’re looking for a young woman 18–24 years old who loves the western way of life, enjoys working with horses, and is confident speaking in public.

As Rodeo Queen, you’ll represent the Cochrane Lions Club, the annual Labour Day Rodeo, and the community of Cochrane.

Throughout the competition, you’ll showcase:

• horsemanship
• public speaking
• rodeo knowledge
• personality

This role is about so much more than wearing a crown — it’s about building lifelong friendships, growing your leadership skills, and representing one of Alberta’s premier rodeos at events across the province.

The search is on for the 2027 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen! This unique opportunity allows young women to develop their leadership, horsemanship, public speaking, and community engagement skills while serving as an ambassador throughout Alberta and beyond.

To be eligible, applicants must:
✨ Be between the ages of 18 and 24
✨ Be at least 18 years old by May 30, 2027

Contestants will be evaluated in:

📚 Knowledge
