Don't let jaw pain get the best of you!
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain can be caused by a few things like an injury, repetitive clenching/grinding, arthritis or even structural issues (these are typically dental issues).
Symptoms include pain or tenderness in the jaw or around the ear, difficulty/discomfort when chewing, clicking or popping sounds when moving the jaw or even locking of the jaw, making it difficult to open/close.
But you're in luck! Our wonderfully talented RMT, Susan Pompu, can help! External massage of the masseter, temporalis and neck muscles, as well as intraoral massage of the pterygoids (using a gloved hand of course) can drastically improve symptoms!
