It's been a while since I've introduced myself on here,

Hi I'm Shelby.

I've been in the beauty industry for 33 years (aka my entire life), with an incredibly talented stylist/business owner as a mother.

At a very young age, I’d hang around the salon sweeping floors, listening to the constant chatter, the phone ringing off the hook, browsing the latest trends through the oversized hardcover hair books, always interested in the latest products Redken had to offer, watching clients hair be transformed and being a practice head for all the junior stylists which sometimes lead to questionable hair styles.

I decided to rebel and not follow the footsteps of my mom and sister, so in 2014 I chose to become a professional makeup artist instead of a hairstylist. There I discovered an amazing community within the bridal industry, meeting incredible colleagues/ friends. With hundreds of photoshoots and weddings, awards and publications in Wedluxe, Vancouver Island Weddings, West Coast Weddings, Wedding Ring, Wedding Imporium, to name a few. I realised makeup was my calling, I absolutely love enhancing natural beauty.

But I also love Redken, I mean I was literally born into it, I was feeling a pull to start doing hair. So the Redken community took me under their wing with amazing education and state of the art colour classes, I was able to learn the science behind their products, the reason why and stay up to date in a constantly evolving industry.

So now I get to have two passions painting hair and painting faces.
