​Dear Valued Clients, Former Guests, and Friends,

"​They say that if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life."

​Reflecting on my 40 year career, I realize it was never just about hair. It was always about connection, trust, friendship, and the privilege of being a small part of your lives. After much thought and heart-searching, I am officially announcing my retirement, with my final day in the salon set for

December 30, 2026.

​Many of you have sat in my chair through every season of life, becoming a cherished part of mine.
My journey has taken me from owning Lacarah Studios in Burnaby, to working alongside wonderful colleagues at Genesis, and spending these last 14 years at Filomena Salon & Spa.

​Looking back, it isn't the competitions, awards, or business milestones that stand out most—it is you my incredible guests.

​We have laughed together, cried together, celebrated achievements, and supported one another through life’s unexpected turns. Many of you were there through my pregnancies as I proudly shared news of my children. Later, you celebrated my daughter’s wedding, offered comfort through the loss of my parents, and shared in the pure joy of welcoming my first grandchild.

​I have also had the incredible honor of watching your families grow. Some of your children first sat in my chair as babies, returned as teenagers and becoming adults, and eventually brought in children of their own. Serving multiple generations has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

​A stylist’s chair works both ways. While I was there to listen and care for you, the kindness, compassion, and warmth you offered me—especially during difficult times—gave me strength when I needed it most. You didn’t just support my business; you nurtured my heart.
For that, I will be forever grateful.

​Whether you are a current client or a former guest whose path crossed mine over the years, you played a meaningful role in this journey. If you are able, I would love the opportunity to share one last appointment, reconnect, reminisce and would love to offer you a heartfelt goodbye.

There is something so incredibly special about this career.
I’ve been doing Cherilyn’s hair since she was just 12 years old.
Watching her grow up from a young girl into an amazing woman—and now seeing her with her own beautiful little family—is an absolute privilege.

Saturday, the whole crew came in to get fresh new looks just in time for the end of the school year! 🎒✨

**P.S. To my fellow stylists who choose not to do children’s hair:**
Watching them grow year after year and you give them confidence with a special haircut, there is no greater reward when they continue to see you year after years.

Forever grateful for the growth, the memories, and the immense trust you have placed in me all these years. ❤️
