Join I-Hos Gallery in collaboration with Komok's First Nation, as we take part in National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.

When: Sat, June 20th / 2 pm -9 pm
Where: Courtenay Exhibition Grounds
Please note that I-Hos Gallery will be closed at our usual location on Comox Road but we will have a booth and be giving out our first round of bursaries at the exhibition grounds.

We're honoured to bring our art and be a part of the festivities. It's going to be a beautiful day - See you all out there!

Our location alongside this amazing Estuary is a true gift. It brings us the smell of ebbing tide, the call of eagles and the view of playful seals. We are in awe of the work of Project Watershed, the K'ómoks First Nation and so many other organizations and individuals that restored the Kus-Kus-Sum site to natural habitat. We see native vegetation thriving where there was once pavement and a gentle riverbank where there once was a red metal retaining wall.

Part of creating a workplace that is a positive place, is experiencing the joy of learning new things. We were thrilled to have the amazing Meagan Cursons, Executive Director of the Cumberland Community Forest speak to us about this incredible Comox Valley natural resource. From bats and toads to fungus and watersheds, we learned so much! We're looking forward to stewarding it, sharing it responsibly and volunteering. To spread the word further, when guests stay at the Old House, they will find a beautiful book on the Cumberland Forest in their suite. Thanks for such a great program Meagan and Courtney!

We really loved being part of the Comox Valley Record's ad contest for junior artists ✏️🖍️🖌️and had such a difficult time choosing a winner! 🙌 Our junior artists, and surely this winner, captured so much of our experience! Thank you Bianca!!!
