🍄 Mill Pond Herb Walks — Episode 2

Oyster mushrooms are one of the most recognizable wild fungi you’ll spot on a forest walk. Found growing in clusters on dead or dying hardwood, they play an important role in forest ecosystems by breaking down wood and returning nutrients back to the soil.

Nature is always quietly at work beneath our feet.

🌿 MILL POND HERB WALKS Episode 1
Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)

A plant that’s been around since the dinosaurs and still grows wild around the Mill Pond today.

Horsetail thrives in damp areas and is traditionally used in herbalism for its mineral content, especially silica to support hair, skin, nails, and connective tissue.

Best harvested in late spring to early summer while the green stems are vibrant and fresh.

There’s medicine growing all around us 🌿

One of my favourite parts of herbalism is that plants don’t rush.
And they remind us we don’t always have to either. Happy Saturday

What is an apothecary, actually?
Not a wellness trend. Not a supplement aisle with a prettier label.
It’s where plant knowledge lives. Where someone sits with you, asks real questions, and makes something for you, specifically for your body not just generic for everyone.
Before the pharmacy on every corner, before the 40-ingredient capsule nobody can pronounce, there was a person who knew plants. And knew people.
That’s what I’m trying to build.
At Bloom by Ivy I make small-batch teas and tinctures geared specifically for women’s health. If you are looking for something specific we can work together to figure out what your body needs.
If you have a question or just want to chat herbs drop a question in the comments. I love nerding out to plants
