Just a few truths about Bloom by Ivy 🌿
It’s a small business. It’s just me behind it all.
I blend everything, pack the orders, answer the messages, do the markets and somewhere in between all of that, I’m studying and learning as much as I can about herbs.
And I really do notice every order that comes in. I recognize your names when you order again and it still makes me so happy when I see someone come back.
I’m learning as I go, growing this little business as I go, and really just seeing where it takes me.
Thanks for being here and supporting it 🤎
Just. Keep. Going.
We’ve talked a lot about anxiety and the nervous system this week what anxiety can feel like, what’s happening within the nervous system, and how different herbs may be considered depending on how someone is presenting.
But I wanted to end the week with this:
🌿 Herbs are only one piece of nervous system support.
Sleep, nourishment, movement, time outside, connection, breathing and our everyday rhythms matter too.
One of the things I love about learning herbalism is that it continually brings me back to looking at the whole person, rather than simply matching an herb to a symptom.
Sometimes herbs can offer beautiful support.
But they don’t exist in isolation.
If you are looking to deepen the benefits of herbs send me a message for a detailed intake form so we can match the blend to your body.

Yesterday we talked about what anxiety is and how it can show up in the body.
But why can’t we always just “calm down”?
Our nervous system is designed to protect us. When our brain perceives a threat, the sympathetic nervous system can kick in preparing the body to fight, flee or freeze.
And the threat doesn’t always have to be physical.
Stress, uncertainty, worry and anticipation can all influence this response, which is part of why anxiety can feel so physical.
🌿 From an herbalist’s lens, this is important.
Instead of simply asking, “What herb is good for anxiety?” we look at the person, how their nervous system is presenting, and the kind of support they may need.
Tomorrow: Why there isn’t just one “anxiety herb.”
Anxiety isn’t “all in your head.”
It involves the brain, nervous system, heart, breathing, muscles and digestion. It is the body’s way of preparing us to respond to a real or perceived threat.
This protective response is useful—but when the alarm keeps sounding after the danger has passed, it can leave us feeling tense, restless, overwhelmed or exhausted.
This week, we’ll explore anxiety through an herbalist’s lens: understanding the nervous system, the different ways anxiety presents and why support should never be one-size-fits-all.
For education only. Persistent or severe anxiety deserves support from a qualified healthcare professional.
Something new at Bloom by Ivy 🌿
Each week, I’ll be choosing a different area of wellness and taking a closer look at the herbs, mushrooms and different ways I work with them.
We’ll talk about things like sleep, stress, digestion, energy, women’s wellness, mental clarity + more.
I’ll share a little education, what I have to offer, and where custom herbal blending may fit in.
Our first topic starts tomorrow. 🌿
