So what does lived in hair even mean?

Lived in hair is sort of a mix of highlighting and blending that allows your color to grow out naturally. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

So you feel like the shampoo and conditioner you loved all spring and summer just aren't doing it for you anymore?
It's completly normal, as Canadians our skin and hair endure alot with the season change. Now that the humidity is gone and the heating is turned on its time to add moisture to your routine.
I can't tell you a magic solution that will help every hair type out there. But what I can do is suggest asking about the best options for your lifestyle and hair type at your next hair appointment. There's alot of options out there and the last thing I want is you suffering with dry hair or itchy/flaky scalp if we can do something to help.

I get asked this question all the time.. "Why do I need a toner?"
Answer, Toners seal the cuticle and lock in your color. Yes it is supposed to fade with time, they last up till 6 weeks. I offer Tone & Treats after the 6 week mark to keep your color balanced until your next highlight or balayage session.
Think of a toner like the clear coat over your nail polish, it gives longevity and shine.

Help! My pool turned my hair green!
If your hair turns green after taking a splash 💦 you are certainly not alone! Green hair can be a summertime downer. We assume chlorine from the pool causes the green color but it’s actually COPPER! Yes!!!! Copper is a metal found in all water. The combination of chlorine and copper bond together and form a film that sticks to the protein in each hair strand, causing the hair to turn green.
How to prevent your hair turning green
〰️ Leave in conditioner. Apply to your hair before entering the pool.
〰️ Wet your hair with tap water before entering the pool.
〰️ Wash your hair as soon as you are done swimming
〰️ Don’t get your hair wet in the pool.
If it’s too late....don’t stress I have a treatment to remove the chlorine and copper build up!

DIMENSION! What is it and what does it mean!?😱
Basically it’s the contrast between colors in your hair.
Do you want to be a brunette with highlights, or do you want to be a blonde with lowlights?💁🏻♀️
Do you want the two colors to pop right next to one another? Or do you want them to gently coexist without being too obvious?🌾
High contrast colors do require more depth (darker color) to go against. Which is why, if you’re blonde, adding more blonde will just look blended. ✨

Here are the three things I love most about being a hair stylist
🌈1. I get to be creative. Hair color is like my magic canvas and no two formulas of mine are the same. I love custom creating a blend for every guest and that's what keeps this career so exciting for me.
✨2. I get to make women feel empowered. I'm a busy mom, I get it. It's hard for us to feel 100% each and every day. But I make it my mission to have all of my clients walk out feeling like they can conquer the world with the skills to upkeep their look at home and that brings me so much joy.
❤️3. I truly believe I have the best clients on the planet. I am still not sure how I got this lucky, but I walk in and out of work smiling each and every day because my guests truly light me up.

Did you know it’s a lot quicker of a process to go darker with your hair than it is to go lighter?
Unless you have hair that’s never been touched with any type of color or chemical, it’s most likely going to take multiple appointments and plenty of patience!
Let me explain why!
Once you have pre-existing color in your hair and you want to go lighter, you have to break through that hair color, and your naturally existing pigment! Hair color will not lift through other hair color, which means you have to use a lightener and work gradually towards a lighter shade. Depending on how much lighter your end goal is, this may take a few appointments.
This can be done by slowly adding in lighter highlights each time with a full head of foils.
