Hey Dahlia fans, thanks to all who have placed orders for the dahlia clumps I am selling. It's been a busy day!

Here are the last of the dahlias for you to consider. Clumps are $40 and available for pick up only once the frost hits and they are dug up.

I will review all emails that have come my way and give you all an update tonight on what is left. Please be patient if I have run out. I am trying to keep up and getting lots of requests and no time to tally them all yet. I will know more tonight!

As I mentioned Painted Madam, Labyrinth are gone and I suspect Crazy Neon is done too....check back tonight for an update.

I will go out to the garden today and photograph the last 12 varieties to post here later today. The rain was torrential last night - the first heavy west coast winter rain of the year. Dahlias are troopers, and I hope they didnt take it too hard. Stay tuned for the photos.

As the dahlia season winds down with the coming of the rain here on Vancouver Island, it's time to think about pulling the dahlia tuber clumps and storing them - always my favorite task in October....
I will be downsizing the garden next year and have 127 CLUMPS (not single tubers) of DAHLIAS FOR SALE, representing about 44 varieties. As I do not want to divide them next year (that's well over 600 single tubers, and several weeks of solid work in March), I would like to take them out of the ground in Oct and have them go to their new homes at your house (or your garage actually, to overwinter). THIS OFFER IS FOR LOCAL GARDENERS ONLY UNLESS you want to pay shipping, which is never a cheap date.
I am selling them for $40 per clump with a minimum of 4 tubers guaranteed (valued at $12 per single tuber). Most have many, many more tubers so you can either divide them yourself to share, or put the whole clump in the ground next spring for even more flowers next year. PICK UP IS AT OUR FARM in late October once we have had a good killing frost and we have pulled them out.

It's Dahlia Day for staff and residents of Cerwydden today and the sunflowers wanted to come too. Some of the sunflowers are almost falling over and are 10+ feet tall. It's been a bumper crop of flowers this year and I am sooooo grateful and happy to share. Thanks Ma Nature, you give us all we need and so much more.❤️❤️❤️

The 158th annual Cowichan Ex opened today and what a blast! From the goat costume parade to the massive pumpkins, sheep herding, sheep shearing, incredible food and textiles, this is a true celebration of our abundant, diverse, talented, and fruitful valley and it's inhabitants. My fave food category, as always, is" Cake, made by a Man" and I was lucky enough to meet the winner John, who also excelled outside his gender category. 🤣🤣🤣 The motocross jumpers nearly gave me a heart attack esp as one of them is 12! I won 8 ribbons for my dahlias and a 1st for my roses and a 2nd for my garlic. A banner day all around!

My day is absolutely and totally and utterly MADE! The dahlias in the garden are jumping up and down..."Pick me next!" 😍🥰😍

It's Dahlia Delivery Day at Cowichan Hospice House! It seems they are a hit with residents and staff alike, which makes my day. I will take a break next week as the flowers are lasting a long time and next weekend is the 158th annual Cowichan Exhibition. I am entering dahlias in the fair, so need to be able to choose the showstoppers! Wish me luck, it's always a blast, winning or not.

I dropped 15 Dahlia bouquets at Cowichan Violence Against Women today. Those women and their kids can always use a little flower love.💕🏵️💛🌼🩵🌸❤️🌺 valley
