What is Dermal Filler? ๐Ÿค“

โ˜๏ธ There are many types of facial fillers, but the most common type is Hyaluronic Acid! ๐Ÿ’ง

๐Ÿค” Some of you may think youโ€™ve seen that word somewhere in your skincare ingredients. Youโ€™re RIGHT! โœ…

๐Ÿ’ฆ Hyaluronic acid is actually found naturally throughout our body, especially in the joints๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿผ, eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ and skin ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿฆฑ. It helps your joints move smoothly, hydrates your skin, reduces wrinkles and can also help wounds heal faster and reduce scarring!

๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ As we age, our body begins to produce less and less hyaluronic acid. That leads to the sunken and sagging appearance of the face ๐Ÿ˜ซ.

๐Ÿ˜š Luckily, with the invention of injectable hyaluronic acid, we now have the way to supplement the missing volume on our face! Besides adding volume, hyaluronic acid filler can also create structure (eg: create cheekbones or jawline), hydrate the skin and stimulate new collagen growth! ๐Ÿง–๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ฅ Please message me if youโ€™d like to book a free consultation, or a treatment appointment for filler or Botox!

Do you ever wish your gum wonโ€™t show as much when you smile? Botox can help with that! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

๐Ÿ˜ Gummy smile: This occurs when a larger than proportionate amount of gum tissue shows above the upper teeth when smiling. One of the causes is that your upper lip muscle is lifting too much when smiling.

๐Ÿฆท Teeth grinding/Slimming of the jaw: If you have bruxism (teeth grinding) or you want to slim your jawline, masseter Botox treatment can help! It is injected into the chewing and grinding muscle, relaxing it to reduce jaw tension and slim the appearance of a wide jaw.

๐Ÿง–๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ There are MANY other areas that Botox and filler can treat! If you are not sure if your area of concern could be treated, please donโ€™t hesitate to DM me! ๐Ÿ“ฒ Iโ€™m more than happy to assess and recommend best skincare/cosmetic solution! โ˜บ๏ธ

Letโ€™s see some examples of Botox treatments! โœจ

๐Ÿ˜จ Forehead lines: These are horizontal lines that span the forehead above your eyebrows. How to see: Act surprise!

๐Ÿ˜† Crowโ€™s feet (or smile lines): These are tiny wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyes. How to see: Smile really hard!

๐Ÿ˜ก Frown lines: These are vertical lines between your eyebrows. How to see: Make an angry face!

๐Ÿ’‰ Botox can relax these muscles, which smooths the skin above them.

๐Ÿ“ฉ Each area requires a different amount of Botox units. Message me for a quick estimate!

What is Botox? ๐Ÿค”

โœจ Botox is a brand name of Botulinum toxin, a protein produced by bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. There are other brands for this product such as Dysport or Xeomin, but Botox is the most commonly used because it was the first injectable one on the market.

What does Botox do?
๐Ÿšฆ Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle weakens and can't contract as strongly as before. That makes wrinkles relax and soften.

What kind of wrinkles can Botox treat?
๐Ÿง–๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Botox works for wrinkles that are formed by repeated muscle movements. These areas include forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines, as we almost always use these muscles for facial expressions ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜š๐Ÿ˜ . Botox wonโ€™t help with wrinkles caused by sun damage or gravity.

Things that make you age that you DONโ€™T EVEN NOTICE! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

๐Ÿ”† UV light: This is the top cause of premature skin aging! It damages skin cells, contributing to premature changes like age spots and wrinkles.

๐Ÿšฌ Smoking: Toxins in ni****ne break down collagen and elastic fibers in your skin, leading to sagging, wrinkles and a hollow, gaunt face.

๐Ÿ˜ฅ Mental stress: When youโ€™re stress, your body produces a stress hormone that indirectly prevent your skin from looking plump and vibrant.

๐ŸŸ Unhealthy diet: Pretty straightforward - say yes to greens, say no to carbs.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป Poor work habits: Sitting all day with not enough physical activity, long hours on the computer being exposed to blue light or working too much with inadequate sleep โ€ฆ makes your cells age faster.

๐Ÿป Alcohol: Too much alcohol can dehydrate and damage your skin over time, leading to signs of premature aging.

Seems like almost everything youโ€™re doing in your daily life? I agree. Swipe for some solutions!

What happens to our face as we age?

๐ŸŒป Plumpness: skin loses โ€œbaby fatโ€, collagen and protein that jeeps skin firm and plump. Gravity also causes sagging of skin.

๐ŸŒผ Texture: fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear as aging skin loses elastin, a protein that allows skin to stretch and bounce back without forming wrinkles

๐ŸŒป Skeletal structure change: we experience facial bone loss, which changes the dimensions and contour of the face.

๐ŸŒผ Hence, as we age, our facial shape changes from a โ€œTriangle of Youthโ€ to a โ€œPyramid of Ageโ€
