Get to know me!

Hello everyone near and far, I thought I would do an introduction post for those new and those who need a refresher!

My legal name is Lilian but I like to go by Kati.
My parents both had amazing women in their lives and they wanted to use their names for me so I was born Lilian Katira de Jong. These days after marrying Steven and finding my true identity in my 30s I go by,
Kati Makepeace. ✌️
I will ALWAYS use all my beautiful given names so please don't feel you have to change a name you know me as. I love my name and the person behind each name, I wouldn't be me without them. 💜

I was born to be a hairstylist, I know that for sure. But I never thought I would be an educator of any kind. Teaching has been something that has brought me great joy and I feel so fortunate to have found a second career/ passion within my first career. I started doing hair in cosmetology in high school and started in education in 2015.

I met my incredible partner Steven in 2010 through an accidental text message (yes it's true) we are coming up on 13 years together and now 2 incredible kids.

It's remarkable what life will give you the opportunity to do when you're open to the adventure.
