Today a longtime client surprised me with this little figurine holding a bouquet of flowers, it is called Thank You. It goes perfectly with the existing Thank You one I already had from years ago from another client. Being reminded of the impact you have on the people around you is such a beautiful thing. I am so lucky to have the clients I have, many of them I have been working with for many years. My heart is full. Here’s to 2026, a new year full of more healing, restoration and peace.

Tomorrow the 4 day learning journey begins. Cancer was once thought to be a “no go” when it comes to massage therapy. Now thanks to research and knowledge, I am excited to learn what I can do to help people who might be facing this.

I’ve been asked by a couple people how The Comfort Touch for Palliative Care was. My biggest take aways from the two days was
It’s less to do with doing and more to do about being.
I was reminded that you not only touch people with your hands, you touch people with your voice, your eyes and most importantly your energy.
It was a great reminder how important a mediation practice is, to quiet the mind and open the heart.
And lastly the Hospice Centre we took the training was such a beautiful tranquil facility. This picture is of the stained glass art that was part of the original building that was saved to install in this new space. It was so beautiful.

Hard to believe it’s been 23 years! I’m grateful for my body and it’s ability to hang in there all these years. I’m also so grateful for everyone who has walked through the clinics door and has trusted me to help them in their healing and well being. Thank you thank you thank you. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Hi there.
The Alberta Government announced yesterday that we are moving into the third and final step in its pandemic restriction lifting plan. As of midnight tonight mandatory isolation and masking on public transit will cease.
I want to start by thanking each and every person who has complied with all the protocols that we have put in place since the pandemic started. You
helped make Back to Nature Wellness Centre a safe place for people to receive much needed treatments.
I also recognize that just because the province is ready to lift this precaution it doesn't mean all of our clients are ready to abandon this safety measure. So moving forward, we will continue to check in with you
the day prior to ensure you are symptom free and you will be asked if you want your therapist to wear a mask during your treatment. We are ready to
move forward and see all of your beautiful smiles again and we are also prepared to make sure you are comfortable.
Also, if there is a spike in the hospitals again we will reinstate the masking to protect everyone. We got through this together and we will get through
this last step together too.
Thank you
Sincerely, Cynthia Christensen

*Mask update for Back to Nature Wellness Centre.
Yesterday the City of Edmonton removed the mask mandate bylaw for the city. However at Back to Nature Wellness Centre we have decided to:
1. Our Therapists will continue to wear the masks until we reach stage 3 or until further notice.
2. We ask our clients to continue to wear their mask while coming into the clinic and when leaving. It will be optional while receiving treatment on the table.
3. We will discontinue the prescreening waiver and continue to check in via text the day prior. We all know now that coming in with symptoms is no longer acceptable and if something comes up we should reschedule.
4. We will continue to ask that you text upon arrival.
5. And payment will be collected upon arrival.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we move into our new normal.

Today on this Winter Solstice, as we move towards more light, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the people who came through our doors in 2021. You have placed your trust in us to provide a safe place for you to take a moment for yourself. I don’t think the need for self care has ever been this high with all the stress everyone is facing and trying to deal with. I know for me working through these trying times and being there for my clients, truly made me feel like I was contributing and helping and for that I am deeply grateful. Happy Holidays to everyone from me and my coworkers here at Back to Nature Wellness Centre. I hope you enjoy your holiday with your loved ones and find time for yourself. We will see you in 2022, together we will push on and get through this together ❤️ Sincerely Cynthia Christensen

Massage Therapy is not included in the latest provincial Restriction Exemption program.
We have been informed by our massage association that we are allowed to continue to work as usual, provided we are following all the COVID protocols we have been given. This includes, as always, screening, masking, sanitation and distancing when ever possible. There is also an air purifier in the room for added protection. I am grateful to keep the doors open and provide a safe place to work with you to help release tension and stress.
