Last day of my purple nails, so obviously I had to get something ube-flavoured from 💜Then we wandered next door to because we had to drink our coffees somewhere 😏
You guys know how much I love spotting my nail colours in the wild. It’s such a fun excuse to try a new flavour or pick up a weird book I’d never normally grab!
💜 Please read caption 💜 I know videos like this support consumerism, but as a bit of a recovering shopaholic, it actually felt like a fun constraint to put on my shopping habits. It was like using color as a little filter while I was out and about 😊 Even though it does involve clothes and shopping, and I didn’t do a super great job explaining this in the video, the fun part of this little challenge was that it encouraged me to pick up little colorful things that push me out of my usual neutral comfort zone.
I really enjoyed it and want to bring this idea into other parts of my life too! I honestly think it helps with mindfulness. A few weeks ago, when I had chartreuse nails (my first fall color), I went on a nature walk and tried to find that color in the world around me. It was a super fun video to film and edit!
I’d love to make more videos like this (not always centred on shopping)… maybe things like cooking with purple ingredients or colouring a purple-only page in my colouring book?
So I guess what I’m trying to say is: yes, this video includes shopping, but I hope the main takeaway is creativity, not consumerism 💜
