Accessibility matters 💙 Share this ahead of National AccessAbility week!
These are a few of the ways I try to make my massage practice work for them — from having systems in place (thanks ), treatment setup, to simply paying attention to the small details.
Every client’s needs, preferences, comfort level, and mobility are different.
Do you or someone you know happen to be a wheelchair user in Edmonton looking for Massage Therapy? You are welcome here ♿️💙
Catch you in part two!
The show must go on…🥲
How long into this Lil Wayne “A Milli” acapella session until you’d HAVE to ask your Massage Therapist to end it? 🫠
What is any healthcare practitioner or service provider’s biggest asset? Their TIME.
Jane gave me so much of mine back and now I can focus on what matters most: my clients. I refuse to let the quality of care I provide go down simply because I have too many tasks on my plate.
I’ve been able to say goodbye to:
🩵 Unorganized handwritten chart notes
🩵 Sunday scaries
🩵 Manually juggling a waitlist
🩵 Burnout
🩵 Trying to figure out systems all alone
🩵 Feeling guilty or behind when taking time off
🩵 Manually booking, rescheduling, or cancelling appointments
🩵 Clients arriving without intake forms completed
🩵 Not knowing my KPIs (booked vs. unbooked time, retention, billing summaries)
I needed something reliable, user-friendly, and backed by a company that genuinely cares about its community. Jane checked every box, and choosing it for my practice has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

With National AccessAbility Week coming up, I wanted to share a few ways I try to make my massage practice more accessible for Deaf clients 💙
Everyone is different, which is why it’s important not to assume.
Some examples:
• Don’t assume it’s okay to touch someone to get their attention. Yes, even if you’re their Massage Therapist.
• Some clients may prefer a wave if they’re not looking at you, while others may find this uncomfortable.
• Don’t assume communication through phones or devices will always work as some clients may prefer handwriting instead. Have options.
A few requests I’ve had in practice include:
• Moving my clock so it’s easier for them to keep track of time and knowing when session is over
• I flick the lights before re-entering the room so they know I’m coming back in
Accessibility doesn’t always require huge changes. Often, it’s more about caring and the willingness to accommodate as needed.
If you are Deaf (or even just work with Deaf clients), feel free to add your accessibility tips below. I’d really love to learn from you 👇👇
Passive stretching for some calf TLC 🫶
p.s. Tip for RMTs/Students who also want to work smarter not harder
Option 1: Instead of using your wrists, move up and down using leverage
Option 2: Instead of leaning over, shift your weight back and fourth between left and right legs
Another nurses week has come and gone, May 11th - May 17th
Thank you nurses, the heart and backbone of the healthcare system. The difference you make and comfort you bring your patients is immeasurable. You are SO appreciated.
I love helping nurses! The reason they receive Bodywork ranges from having to lift patients, being on their feet all day or sometimes just the mental load.
Introverted but willing to yap about your spine 😆 Let’s chat!
A few notes:
- Disc degeneration is not the same as being diagnosed with Disc Degeneration Disease. And I’m not speaking of DDD in this video.
- Disc degeneration CAN cause issues that lead to back pain. I’m not here to invalidate if that’s been your case 🤗
- Your testing results coming back ‘normal’, with no remarkable findings doesn’t make your pain any less valid or real.
