An RMT in British Columbia recently created a new federal petition to gather further support for HST/GST exemption for massage therapy in Canada.
This petition is sponsored by MP Brad Vis, who has previously championed similar exemption petitions directed towards the previous federal government.
A related petition, recently presented in the House of Commons by Newfoundland MP Jonathan Rowe, has already mandated a government response. Every new petition presented with maximum signatures further amplifies our collective voice and compels the government to act on this crucial issue.
We strongly encourage all RMTs, massage therapy students, and members of the public to sign this petition before it expires on December 25, 2025: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6753

As of May 1st, the clinic will have a new address! My Lindsay Street office has been a great space for the last few years, but it’s time for something new. The new clinic address is 24 Market Street in Fenelon Falls (formerly the The Book Lady Bookstore). It’s located across from the Fenelon Library and has loads of street parking available for clients. This new space will be a bit of a work-in-progress for the next few months, but I’m super excited for all the changes and additional services that this new location will provide. Stay tuned and thanks so much for all your support - I have the very best clients!

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and wonderful long weekend! The office will be closed from Friday until Wednesday as we keep working away on renovations for the new clinic location (all the details will be coming next week!).

How are you hydrating this summer? With the heat we’re already seeing rolling into July, it’s super important to watch for signs of dehydration and make sure you’re drinking enough. If plain water isn’t your thing, other great options include sparkling water, iced herbal tea, adding frozen fruit or citrus or adding electrolyte drinks (especially if you’re outside and sweating!). When we sweat we lose electrolytes (salts and minerals) and if we don’t keep both our fluid and electrolyte balance in check, it can lead to signs of dehydration such as headaches, fatigue, muscle cramps and nausea.
Our go-to electrolyte mix for the last year has been (especially the Rainbow and Blue-Raspberry flavours). They were kind enough to give us an affiliate program promo-code when we bought all our hydrator and protein powders for our PCT hike. So if you’d like to order anything from their website, feel free to use our code GCHIKES30 for 30% off any online order (valid for both CAN & US sites).
Cheers to a healthy and safe summer everyone!

Sandal season is here and it’s important to take care of your feet. Here are two simple exercises you can do at home:
1. Rolling out the plantar fascia (use a tennis ball, golf ball or massage ball) - this helps keep the muscles and plantar fascia of the foot loosened and can help prevent heel pain that can occur when the arch gets tight
2. Tibialis Posterior Heel Raises (with a ball between your heels) - this exercise strengthens the tibialis poster muscle that runs along the back of the tibia (shin bone) and helps support and stabilize your arch
Try these exercises a couple times a week to keep your feet pain-free and happy!
