Cannula Method Used:
💉30 minutes of topical numbing cream.
💉 An entry needle is used to pierce the skin & create an injection site.
💉 Then, the cannula is used to enter the injection site and perform the treatment.
💉 A cannula is a little larger than a needle that’s not as sharp and bends. (A cannula has a blunt tip and cannot pierce the skin.)
💉 Those properties allow for a much safer treatment because when inserting it underneath the skin, if there’s a vessel-the cannula tip will bounce off the vessel instead of piercing it.
💉 This is why you have less tissue trauma, discomfort & bruising.

I always briefly explain how toxin works to my first time clients! (Even if they don’t care to hear it!) As an injector I believe it’s important for all clients to understand how these products works before receiving treatment.

Here is a little scientific explanation of how toxin works: with muscle contraction our nerves release a chemical messenger, acetylcholine. This happens at the nerve endings meeting our muscle cells. The acetylcholine then attaches to muscle cells which then creates muscle contraction.
Meaning: our muscles need acetylcholine for contraction.

Neurotoxins (Dysport/Botox) BLOCK the release of acetylcholine so that the muscle is unable to perform contraction.

Hence why we are unable to create certain facial movements 2 weeks after receiving treatment in facial focused treatments. Which is the ideal outcome!!

Two weeks post treatment is when you will see muscle relaxation causing your wrinkles to soften do to REDUCTION in repetitive muscle movement!

The toxin is then metabolized in our bodies and slowly you will notice the return of the muscle contraction. This could be anywhere between three and six months post treatment, everyone is different and depends on their metabolism.
