How to increase uptake of organic farming and regenerative agriculture.
Task 1: Collect and analyze data on current organic certification processes for US farms
Task 2: Identify and reach out to organizations and individuals who are already practicing regenerative agriculture in the US
Task 3: Develop and implement a comprehensive education and outreach program for US farmers on the benefits and practices of organic and regenerative agriculture
Task 4: Collaborate with the USDA and accredited certifying agents to streamline the organic certification process and make it more accessible to all US farms.
Task 5: Conduct research on successful models of organic and regenerative agriculture certification programs from other countries, and use this information to inform the development of a more streamlined and efficient certification process for US farms.
Task 6: Develop partnerships with local and national food retailers to increase demand for organic and regeneratively grown produce, and create a market for certified organic and regenerative farmers. Provide support to farmers seeking certification, and promote the benefits of buying locally grown, organic, and regenerative produce for both consumers and retailers.
Task 7: Conduct outreach and education campaigns to inform farmers about the benefits of transitioning to organic and regenerative practices, and the resources available to support them in this process. This can include workshops, webinars, and informational materials distributed through agricultural extension offices, farmer associations, and other relevant organizations.
