It’s been a while since I’ve shared so here’s another reminder of How To Wash Your Hair properly when using products like Monat that don’t contain sulfates and other ingredients to make them extra sudsy.

💦 Lots of water!! Ensure your hair and scalp are thoroughly wet before adding any shampoo.

🧴 Always wash twice. The first wash doesn't usually produce suds as it's removing build up, picking up dirt, oils and products. It might even feel as if your hair has sucked the shampoo up and you're pushing around nothing.

🫧 It is there! And it’s working. Leave on for 2 minutes then rinse well. Like really well… thicker hair you may even have to part your hair into sections to ensure you’re actually rinsing completely.

🔄 REPEAT. Yes, it says so on your bottle but most people don’t look! Shampoo again and you should get bigger suds on the 2nd wash! If not, your hair and scalp are probably full of oils and buildup. But that’s ok, there’s a solution (shampoo AGAIN until you get the suds!)

💫 Tip… For Monat, use between a nickel and a quarter sized blob for the first wash, then a little less for each following wash. Our products are very concentrated, you don’t need a lot. Rub shampoo in hands first together to emulsify and dab it around your whole head, don’t just plop it all on top and hope to spread it out.
