As some of you are aware, a while back I began crocheting and selling items to support the Coldest Night of the Year Walk. This walk took place last weekend and was a huge success for the Samaritan Centre! I am continuing to create pieces in order to generate further funds to serve the homeless/street people in our community. I have no idea how the funds will be used, as trust needs to be built be
Hello friends!
For those of you who have followed Black Sheep from the beginning you know that it began with a partnership between myself and MJ Meekis. MJ was a dear friend who passed away suddenly years ago now. I miss her insight and friendship.
I attempted to carry on Black Sheep but it became increasingly hard to guess what direction it would have taken if MJ were still with us. I found myself becoming sad and stressed more so than anything else when thinking about it and that is the one thing I am sure that MJ wouldn't have wanted. Then came Covid, which changed everything for everyone!
I decided last year to make some changes to my crochet life.
I truly appreciate your support of Black Sheep in the past and would love for you to follow/like my new page Livin' the Life Crochet as I move forward in a new direction, never forgetting the roots established with MJ.

As you may know, we annually enter a team in the Coldest Night of the Year Walk and raise funds to support the Samaritan Centre in downtown Sudbury.
This year things have changed a wee bit . Instead of a gathering downtown to embark on our city streets en masse, things have gone virtual. Meaning, each individual/team is heading out on their own, socially distanced and safe.
It occurred to me that this year we could TAKE THE LAKE! Long Lake has a semi groomed walk/skate path from one end to the other! We (our pup Levi too) will be hitting the ice this year to support the cause. If you would like to make a donation or JOIN TEAM TAKE THE LAKE! That would be greatly appreciated – the link below will take you to the donation page (search TAKE THE LAKE to join).
It’s cold out there! The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk that raises money for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in our community.
