On Monday, the Reverie team and I took our colouring skills to the next level with , who introduced us to the Air Touch technique.

ℹ️ The Air Touch method uses a blow dryer to gently remove shorter, finer hairs, creating a soft, seamless blend of highlights with a natural grow-out. Instead of backcombing, a cool stream of air separates the fragile hairs, leaving the stronger strands to be lightened. The result is a gentler process that delivers a long-lasting, low-maintenance look.

💫 For Helena’s colour today, I used this technique and formulated her shades to enhance and highlight her natural golden tones. I’m absolutely thrilled with the results — and I can’t wait to create more transformations using this method!

➿What happens when a set transforms to a style 🦋✨

Undone waves
My favourite way to achieve an undone look is to create varied texture thoughout the hairstyle.
* I create cohesion in the style by always using the same 1 tool for the perimeter sections (eg. here I’m doing a wand curl for the sections at the nape, in front of the ears and around the face).
* For the interior sections - I’m creating undone texture by curling or waving a few inches, then alternating the hot tool and continuing down the section. I work in a brick lay pattern up the head, starting with the opposite tool for every section that lays on top of one other.
* For a more “done” look I finish all the ends with a wand. For a more “undone” look I finish the ends with the waver.

Is blow drying good or bad for your hair???

Kayli’s waves truly came to life in this short, layered haircut. I focused on carving the shape using my Plier straight razor, allowing her natural texture to move freely with the sweetest tousled flicks and curls.
The cut was hand-styled using a small amount of Hair Balm by to enhance definition without weighing the hair down. The result is an effortless cut that requires minimal daily styling (truly wash and go!) — ideal for folks who want movement, texture, and ease in their routine.
Thanks Kayli for trusting me with your vision for this look, it was such a joy bringing it to life!🫶
