Let's break a myth: estheticians don't always have perfect skin. In fact, many of us enter the industry because of our own skin struggles. I've had my fair share of comments and judgments, but I've learned to embrace my conditions. Despite taking great care of my skin, I still deal with inflammation, endometriosis, dermatillomania, and trichotillomania.

These experiences allow me to approach clients with compassion and understanding. When facing skin challenges, wouldn't you prefer guidance from someone who's navigated similar issues?

My condition requires consistent medical attention, and I'm proactively seeking solutions.

What are the chances I end up in the hospital and then end up diagnosed with epileptic brain activity all since March 1, during Epilepsy Awareness Month.... 🤯🤯

I am 1 in 100. It's wild how many people I know who have epilepsy. It's a common disorder. Epilepsy also is not what I thought it was. People can have a range of different symptoms. Epilepsy can happen to anyone at any time, as I discovered this past weekend.

A giant thank you and shoutout to the staff working at the Guelph General Hospital this past Sunday March 1 - Wednesday March 4. I am so grateful for the care I received in emergency, imaging, the 7th floor and the 5th floor during my stay. 🙏🤗❤️ An extra thank you to everyone who responded during my sudden epileptic episode and saved me. ❤️🤗🙏❤️

Throwback to when I traveled to Toronto to have my lashes done at one of the most popular and top rated lash places not only in Ontario but in the country. The place with hundreds of thousands of followers that left me with chemical burns, corneal abrasions and a 2hr incomplete set advertised as a full set. During this set and when I booked the service I had also requested red and blue lashes but the artist didn't want to walk up the stairs to check their stock. My lashes were also not cleansed before treatment. They lasted less than 1 week before losing 60%.

At LARENEGADE I understand what clients, need, want and expect because I am also a client. Because whenever I go and get my lashes done, I end up like this. Because I quit lashes unless I have trained the person touching my face. Because I have extreme sensitivity and require customized service.

Because if I'm paying a premium for lashes I want them to last my full lash cycle, up to 17 weeks, not less than 2 weeks while being blamed for my aftercare.

My service is designed by the client experience for client experience. ❤️

LARENEGADE cares about you and what provides you the best service for your individual needs. 🤗👌

💰 Free and Cheap Lash Extensions Don’t Exist — Someone Always Pays

There’s a widespread belief that if a lash service is discounted, free, or “just a favor,” it somehow doesn’t cost the artist anything.

That belief is wrong.

Every lash appointment costs the artist real money before skill, experience, or time on the bed is even considered. For many independent lash artists, the cost to perform a single appointment is around $80–$100 — before the artist earns a dollar.

💸 What that cost actually includes:

• medical-grade sanitation and disinfectants
• disposable tools and protective equipment
• premium lash inventory and adhesives
• booking software, insurance, subscriptions, & payment processing fees
• laundry, utilities, and cleaning supplies
• tool wear, replacement, maintenance

and yes — set-up and take-down are part of the service.

There is often no janitorial staff.
There is often no prep team.
The artist is responsible for everything that makes the appointment safe, clean, and professional.

So when someone asks for free or cheaper lashes, what they are actually asking is for the artist to pay those costs out of pocket.

That’s what “free” looks like behind the scenes.

🧠 Why artists don’t just “cut costs”

A common response is:
“If it costs that much, you should just cut costs.”

Here’s the reality:
You cannot offer a luxury, regulated, high-quality service while using bargain-level products and shortcuts — without compromising safety, results, or honesty.

Cutting costs usually means:
• lower-quality adhesives and lashes
• reduced sanitation standards
• rushed appointments
• underpaid technicians
• inconsistent results and higher turnover

Clients would (rightfully) be upset if they paid premium prices for poor quality.

Yet service providers are constantly expected to deliver premium results on discount economics.

That’s not sustainable.

📊 Pricing isn’t about “covering supplies”
A service price does not just cover what was used that day.

It must also allow the artist to:
• replace inventory
• cover ongoing overhead
• invest in education and tools
• pay themselves & employees a livable wage

This is how every business works.
Restaurants don’t price meals at ingredient cost.

Tech companies don’t sell phones at manufacturing cost.

But service providers are routinely expected to justify earning a living.

🔍 The truth about “cheap” lash services
Lower-priced lash services often seem affordable upfront, but they usually require:
• more frequent refills
• complete re-dos
• corrections
• long-term damage repair
• increased chances of irritation or reactions

Many clients end up spending more over time, just in smaller, more frequent payments.

High-quality work costs more because it:
• lasts longer
• uses safer materials
• respects both the client’s eyes and the technician’s career

🖤 A note to clients — and to artists

For years, I undercharged, discounted, and offered free work to be accessible and keep people happy.

What I learned is this:
❤️‍🔥 You cannot build sustainability by sacrificing yourself.
❤️‍🔥 Pricing accurately isn’t about being expensive.
❤️‍🔥 It’s about being honest to yourself, your business and your clients instead of trying to please.

If lashes aren’t in someone’s budget, that’s okay.

But asking for free or discounted work is asking the artist to subsidize the service for you.

And to fellow artists:

If you feel busy but broke, exhausted but still struggling — it’s usually not because you’re bad at business.

It’s because you were never taught to calculate your real costs or how to recognize damaging industry practices hidden as trending tips.

Pricing in the service industry is broken. 💔
Most professionals are taught technique, speed, and aesthetics — but not economics, capacity, or sustainability. The result is predictable: talented artists working harder every year while earning less. 📉

If pricing feels confusing, it’s because no one taught you the system.

I spent the last year building a structured pricing system grounded in real-world service constraints, full cost accounting, and applied math. 🧮

The result is The LARENEGADE Pricing Method™ — a complete pricing textbook for service professionals. 💋❤️‍🔥

Not theory.
Not motivation.
A functional system. 🎯
