Retirement Announcement

Dear Breathe Clients,

First I want to start by saying thank you for all of your messages of love and support while I have been off with this back issue. I am doing much better and I’m continuing to heal each day.

After a lot of reflection and many back and forth discussions with my family, I have made the decision to officially retire from aesthetics. With my back issue and the fact that I will be 55 this year, it feels like the right time. 34 years in this industry and 15 years with my own business. It’s been a hard decision because I absolutely love what I do. It is bittersweet for me.

A friend this week said to me “it’s bittersweet because you didn’t get to go out on your own terms, and there is grief in that”… and that is exactly what I feel. I cannot even begin to tell you how much your support all of these years has meant to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have loved every minute of working on my clients. Laughing, crying and going through all of life’s ups and downs together. It was an honour to serve each and everyone of you and I thank you for entrusting me with your services. I will miss you.

A big shift is taking place in this next phase of my life, and although I feel sad I am looking forward to what’s to come 😊

It’s been an interesting last part of the year for me, but I am happy to say I am doing so much better! Thank you for all who reached out and for the well wishes. It meant so much. I will be in touch soon when I am officially back to work.

As some of you already know I have been off the last 5 weeks with a severe pinched nerve in my back. I am still suffering quite a bit with this major nerve problem. Along with this are so many other factors, like not sleeping because of pain a major one.
I have been getting treatments and adjustments from my Physio place, taking nerve and pain medication, lots of baths and heating pads. We bought a lazy boy recliner and hopefully I will be able to get some sleep in it.

Dr and chiropractor say that this WILL get better (although at the moment it doesn’t feel like it) but pinched nerves can take some time and need rest and therapy. I’m pretty down and completely exhausted. Truthfully it’s been awful but I’m so lucky to have Joe and my family.

Considering where I am in this pinched nerve journey and after careful thought, talking with the drs and Joe, I’ve decided that there is no way I can work right now, it just isn’t physically feasible and even once it’s starts to get better(🤞) I have to strengthen it and let it heal.

***So I’ve decided to take the rest of this year off to heal and focus on getting myself better. ***

They believe that 34 years of doing pedicures and leaning to that side is what has finally caused this break down. And my body said “that’s enough”.

***So it saddens me to let you know that after deliberating back and forth and much careful consideration, I am officially done doing Pedicures and Manicures. 🥲***

This decision makes me very sad because of losing these clients who have been with me for so long and are much more to me than just clients. We’ve become friends. It’s been such a joy and an honour to have worked on you and to have shared our lives with each other. ❤️

I hope in the new year to be back and doing JUST Facials, Waxings and Tinting. If you are interested in me contacting you when I am back up and at it, let me know and I will put you on my list to contact.

I totally understand if you find a new place but if come the new year and I’m back at it and you’d like to rebook I’d be so happy to see you again. No pressure and I completely understanding you do what you need to do.

I want to thank you for everything. I’m pretty emotional about this decision and I know it got a bit wordy above but I wanted to explain my decisions and my plans going forward.

I’ve been an esthetician 33 years this month. 33 years! A few more grey hairs and wrinkles but I’m still here…even if I’ve slowed down some.
