I’m in love with new chemical sunscreens due to their stability. I find that in skincare routines that are complex with the use of acids or other natural ingredients. The substances can react to reduce and oxide when mixed with other active ingredients in physical sunscreen. Your routine and skin type determines the best suited sunscreen. Keep this in mind when choosing. Also for clients suffering from hyperpigmentation chemical sunscreens in coordination with other active ingredients can help reduce acne scars. The best sunscreen for dark skin is a mineral sunscreen that is made with ingredients of natural origin like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. A zinc sunscreen for dark skin is ideal and the ingredients in it won't irritate your skin. If you have melasma, the best sunscreen is one formulated with physical (a.k.a. mineral) sunscreen active ingredients (Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide) and not chemical sunscreen ingredients (Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Oxybenzone, and Octinoxate).
