Springtime often brings Liver Qi stagnation, manifesting as irritability, PMS, fatigue, and digestive issues, due to the transition from winter’s stillness. To support this, focus on gentle movement, eating green foods, liver herbal support, managing stress, and nurturing flexibility to foster vitality.
Invitation For Use:
Two-three week herbal support
Early am:
Drink warm lemon or lime water. With 1/2tsp (about two droppers full) Liver TLC on empty stomach.
And if you feel called, boil some water for a Golden Milk Latte.
Daytime:
Herbal Cleanser tea, 1-2 heaping tsp. per cup boiled water, steep 10 mins. 2-3 cups day
*Before any meal, take 1-2 droppers full of bitters about 10-30 minutes before eating to increase bile production (2-3x per day total). Think of this as your booster anytime you’re about to eat a meal, or a heavier smoothie/ juice.
Evening:
On an empty stomach take 1/2tsp (two droppers) of Liver TLC in small amount of water.
I usually take this while I’m making dinner, at least 20min before a meal.
Before bed:
Fibre Flow Bowel Herbs
(Pick one or combe)
* Psyllium husk or seed powder
* Flax seed
* Marshmallow root powder
* Ground chia seeds
1 tsp. stirred into a half glass of water, sit it for 5 min to thicken, follow with a full glass of water. Take before bed (on empty stomach).
Cleanses can optimize higher body-mind functioning by de-programming cravings, certain allergies, and even supporting the clearing of mental patterns.
Herbs can be used to promote the natural eliminative functions of the body. Along with eating the new in seasons bitter greens. An added boost this time of year is adding in Spirulina. High source of vitamins, minerals, protein, blood sugar regulating, source of energy, blood cleansing. 1 tsp. 1-2x/day. Also including a probiotic! My favorite right now is the spore based probiotic Just Thrive. Like the topical SIV this uses spores to survive the unsurvivable gut landscape and help truly repopulate the gut.
Some of this is inspired by the full cleanse Savayda lead us through in year one at . She leads a yearly cleanse, anyone can sign up if interested.

I HAD to share this one immediately. I’m never making regular pancakes again, and either will you! I’ve been obsessed with Dutch Pancakes for a long time, they puff up so beautifully. I saw someone add berries and obviously they won’t puff but they looked amazing. They reminded me of a Dutch pancake I had in Germany many years ago. They were 🤤 and soooo are these.
The adapted recipe:
Preheat oven to 400. In a blender pop (it was to early so I used a bowl) in 3 eggs, 3/4 c greek yogurt, 3/4 pancake mix (Costco’s protein mix), 1/2 t vanilla, 1 T sugar, 1 t lemon zest, pinch salt. Melt 3 T of butter in a cast iron and toss in 1 c of blueberries and 1c raspberries. Pour blended batter mix over berries and pop in the oven for about 20 minutes or so. The edges will start to turn golden and curl away from the pan. The amount of berries I like to use will keep this from fluffing up, as do cold eggs and milk (room temp is best), but it will still be delicious! Best hot, served with powdered sugar if you have it, but definitely a squeeze of lemon🍋
Real recipe:
Preheat oven to 400. In a blender pop in 3 eggs, 3/4 c milk, 3/4 flour, 1/2 t vanilla, 2 T sugar, 1 t lemon zest, pinch salt. Melt 3 T of butter in a cast iron and toss in 2 c of blueberries. Pour blended batter mix over berries and pop in the oven for about 20 minutes or so. The edges will start to turn golden and curl away from the pan. Best hot, served with powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon.

Both lentils and beans are exceptional for fiber and gut health, offering similar nutritional value, but lentils are generally better for easier digestion and higher nutrient density, while beans often provide more soluble fiber and resistant starch. Both are excellent plant-based, high-fiber, and high-protein choices.
Yield: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
* 3 cups dried navy beans or black beans or both, rinsed and soaked 8 hours or night before.
* Or 3 cups lentils if you forget to soak your beans! Black, French or green
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* 14 oz lean turkey or chicken sausage, sliced into medallions or squeezed out of the casing. I usually use two packages of 4 chicken sausages, 8 total.
* 1 onion, diced
* 2cups of mushrooms, I usually use shiitake, lions mane, oyster, maitake, or button. Combo also works
* Root veggies you have on hand and in season: carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, squash, potatoes, parsnips, chopped/ cubed
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 7 cups chicken / vegetable broth or water
* 3 cups fresh baby spinach or kale
* ¾ tsp salt (plus more to taste)
* ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Using the sauté function on your Instant Pot, add olive oil and cook sausage, onions, mushrooms, stirring occasionally until browned, and onions are translucent. Stir in garlic and cook for one minute. Turn sauté off.
2. Drain and rinse the beans before adding them to the pot along with all the meat/ mushrooms. Add water/ broth. Set to pressure cook (manual) on high for 10 minutes.
3. If using lentils instead of beans, rinse and add to mushroom meat mixture. Add water or broth. Set pressure cook (manual) on high for 8 minutes.
4. Add in rest of veggies on top, I don’t stir it all together, I layer it on top. I pack mine almost to the top, maybe don’t do this, fill to the fill line.
5. When finished, leave to naturally depressurize for 20min especially if using beans. If you over packed it, let naturally depressurize or it will sputter.
6. Stir in greens if you want extra veggies like kale or spinach. Serve with warm, crusty bread and herbs on top.
Full on my blog!
Slow and steady progress. Starting in 2020, after the first lockdown, I finally utilizing our home gym. (Which has also come a long way!) I was tired of not being able to lift heavy bags of dirt in the garden. Gardening is one of my main hobbies and is now a second job, as a skincare formulator who utilizes fresh raw ingredients from our medicinal garden.
For those who want to get strong and be able to do all the things we do now and into the future, but have no idea how to start, I’ll break it down for you. A great starting point for people is barbell_medicine or . They’re a great starting point for people to get exposure to the core barbell lifts with lots of resources online. I’d start there, and start slow with adding weight to the bar. After a few months and after building some strength, confidence, consistency and familiarity with the main movements I’d start looking for some additional exercise variation. But 2-3 times a week doing a squat, a hinge/deadlift and some pressing and pulling is all that most people need. Doing 4 main movements in a full body workout 2-3 times a week for a year sounds pretty easy right, and it is. Slowly adding weight, and or reps is key. With good form! You can see how bad mine was at the beginning.
I track with heavy set, it’s free. And now I use Boostcamp that actually has some great programs. But honestly I started with squats, bench press, over head press, deadlifts and maybe some rows for probably a full year before I added in anything else. Maybe split squats after a few months, but it was really just 4 or 5 main movements. And I tried for three 45min workouts a week. Then you can add curls, and other accessories like that.
I’ve now stopped getting newbe gains. And am really concentrating on going to failure with my sets, and good form. I’m now seeing huge progress with training harder, usually only doing 2 sets. Am I sore most days, yes. But my neck and back don’t hurt anymore, it’s a different kind of sore. And it comes down to vanity, it helps our bone structure including our face. I want my high cheek bones in my 80s without saggy skin!
Who’s with me?!

As we enter a new year, I’m sure I’ll hear more of the same…..
A holistic facial isn’t just about lifting the skin and applying products.
It’s a full body experience that supports your physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
As a holistic esthetician, emotions and physical symptoms aren’t the problem - stagnation is.
Massage helps release fascia so your body can release what it’s been holding onto and return to balance. When working the tissue we are also working the nervous system, which helps move stuck qi as we move into a parasympathetic state. We are also encouraging better movement of lymph and blood. This has a tremendous effect on collagen and elastin production and cell turnover, in addition to many other necessary functions that create healthy skin. Which is why results are seen many days after a treatment.
It’s Regulation. Release. Reconnecting

PEACHY AND BRIGHT!
Peaches are rich in a number of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that help protect your skin from oxidative damage. I’ve compiled three versions of this amazing plant to help keep us Peachy and Bright this season. From the most amazing smelling spritz, to a cooling tasty elixir and ending with a gorgeous hydrating and resurfacing mask, you won’t want to leave your house this holiday!
A little more about our Rosy Peach mask:
Crafted to clarify pores, gently exfoliate, and brighten. Starring ultra-hydrating, enzyme-rich raw wildflower honey for gentle resurfacing. Peach leaf and peach flesh do double duty to help treat breakouts and aging skin. Red clay oxygenates the skin gently for a luminous, calm glow. Rose and hibiscus in humectant vegetable glycerine give the skin vitamin C and help strengthen the barrier. While vetiver, citrus, vanilla, woods, and spice make it your next obsession.
All our holiday offerings are now live on the website! And I hope to see you Saturday December 6th from 10-1 for an in person shopping day!

The holiday season is coming up fast! And I have some great holiday gifting ideas coming our way. Either for self gifting or for others! I plan to release all the goods online December 1st with a drop-in shopping day December 6th from 10–1. (Hours could change)
🌱First is some herbal remedies from think chocolate and mushrooms, and sleepy cozy teas! Along with tinctures to stay healthy this winter ❄️
🌱Then there is our release of the Peachy and Bright sets, it will include my new favorite Hydrosol, Peach leaf hydrosol, along with a Peach and Rose Elixir, and Peachy Bright Skin Mask.
🌱Also we will restock our Lip Glam lip balm. I’m using glass jars this year. I didn’t love how the label came off the tubes. However everyone said it was fine! 🤷♀️ This has been highly requested, so rest assured it will be back!
🌱I’ve also kept quiet a Frankincense Hydrosol, so I’ll be doing a small set of a spritz and Frankincense oil duo. I tried my hand at using up the water soluble parts of the frankincense resin and did a late, end of season still last weekend. It is so citrusy and bright. 🍋
🌱I am also introducing the most fascinating and probably the future of skincare, new spore based serum. This probiotic based serums are something I read about years ago, talking about our skin microbiome and curing rosacea and other microbiome issues like eczema, rashes and acne. The concern was how do we know which microbes are out of order and how to implant it into the skin. Well SIV has figured it out with spores, whose job is to help communications between all the microbes species on the skin. And boom 💥 it helps repair leaky skin. It’s like magic! And works so well with our Whole Plant Skincare 😘
🌱Lastly we will be restocking our facial cups and Gua Sha stones hopefully before Santa gets here. So keep an eye out for those! Including our hair tools.
Who is excited for a self care Christmas?! Anything else you are hoping to have on this list? I was thinking of a warming salve for arthritis and sore muscles. Give me some ideas, it might not be too late for some other stocking stuffers ideas to come up before the holidays 🎁

I love holding space to help release tension, soften the holding patterns, and create space for breath, blood flow, lymphatic flow and true radiance from within then comes out.
It’s not about sculpting someone face, it’s about creating space. In the tissue, in the breath, in the mind. Then we can come back into ourselves. Sure it’s nice to re-pattern the skin, but it’s so much more than the physical we see.
