Hey everyone, my name is Alissa, and I’m the creator of Tails of the Maritimes.

I’ve always turned to the sea for comfort; whether it’s hiking along Duncan’s Cove, cold plunging at Crystal Crescent, or simply driving to the coast and stopping into Peggy’s Cove to release whatever this wild rollercoaster of life brings my way.

The ocean has always been my anchor.. a space where I could process emotions, reflect, and reconnect with myself. 🌊

As I grew older, I began to understand just how powerful those early moments were and how important it is to recognize and navigate our emotions, rather than be carried by them. That realization became the heart of my first children’s book: a story to help young readers understand their feelings, name them, and ride their emotional waves with mindfulness and care. 💙🐾
