ā¢ANTERIOR CHAINā¢
Also known as the front of our bodies!
Majority of us spend A LOT of time bent or hunched forward using our anterior chain. However, we also tend to neglect taking care of this area from strengthening to mobility. I often find my clients find restriction in their anterior chain as well muscle weakness.
Part of my treatment plans have been to help educate my clients on the importance of lengthening and strengthening their anterior chain. Although they may say they have pain and decreased range of motion in the posterior chain, a lot of the time this is due to issues with the anterior chain!
So next time your back hurts make sure you ask your therapist to see if you have any issues or limitations with your anterior chain!
Whatās your favourite anterior chain area to work on? Comment below! ā¬ļø
Mine is my pecs and neck!
Need some work?
Send me a DM or or click the link in my bio to book an appointment and lets get you feeling and moving your best!

ā¢Itās not about being the best. Itās about being better than you were yesterdayā¢
A couple of weekends ago I had the chance to attend the Basketball Sport Medicine conference at Dalhousie and organized by Dr.Chris Johnston.
It was so great to meet other practitioners and Physicians who are keen on helping grow the sport of basketball in the medical world. I was fortunate to meet and chat with Scott McCullough the Head Athletic Therapist for the Toronto Raptors who was one of the main speakers. He is a wealth of knowledge and huge supporter of massage therapy in sport!
Iāve been lucky to have lots of chats with their massage therapist Zahra Bruce so it was so nice to hear him express the importance she is to the team. Massage is still growing in the sports world and as a therapist who preaches the importance to teams, coaches, and athletes in Nova Scotia it was definitely a nice sigh of relief hearing the importance from one of the best!
So just a friendly reminder to book your massage if youāre trying to up your game!
Comment below if youāre an athlete and let me know how massage has helped you!ā¬ļøā¬ļø

ā¢CALMNESSā¢
āthe state or quality of being free from agitation or strong emotionā.
Calmness, a skill we all have but a skill most find difficult to use.
As an athlete things can change in a minuteā¦.being able to stay calm can really effect how you move on from each situation.
As mentioned in previous posts breath work is a tool I like to use with my athletes and clients to activate their calmness. Once you start incorporating breath work into your training you automatically start training your skills to remain calm.
AKA brain recovery š§
An athlete or anyone who is able to control their emotions will have more success, less stress, and better performance.
Send me a DM if youāre looking to work on your calmness, brain health and improve your overall performance.

ā¢BE DIFFERENTā¢
āIn order to be IRREPLACEABLE, one must always be DIFFERENTā.
Being different is spending your Birthday watching your athletes train. Why? Because if you donāt put in the time by watching them train & play you have no idea what their body is going through or how itās being trained. Treating just to treat isnāt productive and you will be replaced.
This is just one example of how Iām different. Work isnāt just in the treatment room. Itās hours watching videos, reading articles, connecting with other professionals, talking to coaches, learning different playsā¦..working with athletes is another level of commitment and to be the best you have to be different. Find ways to be different.
This is just the beginning and Iām not going to stop being DIFFERENT!
