My Story
Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I’ve chosen to share my story because connecting with my clients is very important to me. As long as I can remember I’ve been obsessed with beauty! As a young girl flipping through my mother’s Vogue magazines, I would marvel at the beautiful women who filled the pages. I would often “play” in her makeup drawer, ruining luxury Estée Lauder products and testing my mother’s unconditional love. For me, a face became a canvas that expressed a work of art. My passion continued through high school where I would often do makeup for my girlfriends’ proms or special occasions. I was even asked to do makeup for a wedding party which was an honour that sparked the idea of pursuing makeup artistry as a career.
Flash forward to 2011, I enrolled at The Blanche MacDonald Centre in Vancouver to complete their Global Makeup Program. The yearlong program was very thorough and covered every module from beauty makeup, airbrushing, all the way to special FXs and prosthetics. I finished the program with honours and made my way back to the east coast of Canada, the place I call home.
In 2013, I began working for MAC Cosmetics. I couldn’t imagine a more wonderful opportunity! Working with amazing people and wonderful clients, my hands-on experience at MAC enabled me to meet the varied needs of my clients. The magic of a busy retail setting is that you encounter every different type of person, personality, skin tone, age and lifestyle. It certainly helped me master my art and confirm my passion for this industry.
I believe that continual learning and staying with new trends in the industry helps create beautiful results for my clients. In 2017, I had the privilege of attending Mario Dedianovic’s Master Class in London, England, to learn his secrets in creating Kim Kardashian’s iconic beauty look. I’ve also completed courses in Microblading with The Extension Academy and Eyelash Extensions with Misencil. It is my pleasure to help you create your perfect look for every day or even your special day.
