The actual technique:
1. Line your lips with your liner of choice

2. Go in with your brighter colour — gloss or lipstick — in the centre

3. Lightly pat with your finger (or a lip brush) to disperse the pigment. Don’t drag it outward

4. Keep the colour off your liner — dragging product over it is what kills the finished look

5. Top with your gloss of choice to seal it in
