Just a little poem for those of you who are still contemplating waxing…

Duh, of course it is.

Here are some reasons why:

- Consistent , long-term waxing weakens hair growth resulting in thinner, finer hair. With some individuals that means eventually no hair growth at all. 10/10 would recommend.

- Waxing is an excellent exfoliant. It removes dead skin, leaving you soft and silky smooth 😉

- No razors mean no razor burn or rashes. With proper after care, waxing minimizes in grown hairs as well. Bonus!

- With waxing it can take 3-6 weeks before hair grows back. I like the sounds of that!

The main hesitation I hear from people is “but doesn’t waxing hurt?”.
Waxing can be uncomfortable in the moment but people wouldn’t continue to get waxed if it was that bad. A few moments of discomfort for long lasting results? Seems like a no brainer to me. 🤍

I think it’s time for a little re-introduction as I’ve gained quite a few new followers.

Hi, I’m Alex, the face behind ✨ Studio 22 ✨
I opened my doors in October 2021, which means this year I’m celebrating 5 YEARS (still wrapping my head around that one).

But that’s not all…
This year also marks 20 years of me being an aesthetician specializing in waxing (yes, TWENTY 💁🏻‍♀️), and I’m turning 40… but let’s just keep that between us, okay? 🤫

My biggest love is travel…it’s honestly what I work for and live for. If I’m not here, I’m probably on a plane ✈️

I’m also super into music. I’ve been singing since I could talk, recorded with artists in Toronto, and even performed live (a little fun fact most people don’t expect).

During my years as an aesthetician, I was also a makeup artist. I now use my skills for my Halloween costumes. If you’re curious, you can creep my personal page to see some of my past costumes (that’s also where I post a lot of my travel content)

Close friends have given me the nickname Al, I wasn’t too keen on it but now it fits. If you’d like, you can call me Al.

Most importantly….what you see here is me.
I do my best to show up authentically online, so when you come into Studio 22, there are no surprises. You already know my vibe, my humour, and that you’re stepping into a space where you can feel comfortable, safe, and 100% yourself.
