We work on projects of all sizes. Some big, some small.

This one just happened to be around 40 tons!

For Trillium Park at Ontario Place in Toronto, we sourced and delivered the Ontario stone used throughout the site, including the large engraved entrance boulder that welcomes visitors to the park.

At approximately 40 tons, moving this piece from quarry to site required careful planning, coordination, and plenty of logistical expertise.

Projects like this are a reminder that working with natural stone on a large scale is about much more than the material itself. It's about knowing how to source it, transport it, and place it successfully.

We loved being a part of this public project.

We‘ve recently had a big update to our shop.

We said goodbye to our original crane - a key member of our team from 1992 - and welcomed in a new 5-ton SGTR crane.

Supplied and installed by Prolift Crane & Hoist Inc, the new kit plays a key role in our day-to-day work, moving granite between stations - such as, from shaping to sandblasting.

Great to have a new system in place to keep everything running smoothly.

A big thank you to the team at Prolift for their support on this one.

Wishing a peaceful Memorial Day to our friends and partners across the United States. 🇺🇸

While it’s business as usual at HGH today, we pause to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed.

We’re taking a look back at one of our favourite projects: Trillium Park at Ontario Place, Toronto.

We had the pleasure of working alongside Aldershot Landscape Contractors, UCC Group Inc., and the design team at LandInc., contributing granite elements that helped shape some of the park’s most distinctive spaces. Here’s what HGH delivered:

• Dimensionally cut granite for the ravine walls and bridge area
• Quarried natural stone for the bluff wall along the waterfront
• Sandblasted moccasin engravings integrated into the ravine walls
• Sourcing and fabrication of Northern Ontario granite across key features

We’re always grateful to play a part in bringing outdoor spaces like these to life that have a lasting impact on the city.

A quick heads-up that the HGH team will be taking a break for Victoria Day on Monday, May 18, and will be back in the shop on Tuesday, May 19. 🇨🇦

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable long weekend.

Today we’re shouting out to our brilliant team mate Keshia Carron.

Since joining HGH Granite in 2021, Keshia’s expanded her skillset across our busy workshop.

Starting out in stencil layout and gold leaf work, before moving on to shape carving, she’s now an expert in sandblast engraving.

She plays a key role in bringing clients’ designs to life and making sure each piece meets our exacting standards before they leave the workshop.

Always positive, hardworking, and a great presence on our team, we’re lucky to have her. Thank you, Keshia ⭐

Excited to have supplied the granite for the new Scrivener Square / The James project in Toronto, working with Aldershot Landscape Contractors and architect CCxA.

HGH provided granite pavers, cobbles, and curb in a mix of Charcoal, Caledonia, and Antique Rose - combining domestic and imported stone to achieve a cohesive look across the site.

This development will bring new residential and retail space to the area.

Pleased to be a part of this contemporary project. Keep an eye out for further updates.

Here’s a look at our tooled setback process.

This technique uses a flat chisel and pneumatic hammer to create a defined recessed area with a textured finish.

The result is strong contrast and crisp detail, helping to highlight lettering and design elements while showcasing the natural character of the granite.
