What is Thai massage (Part 1 of 2)
[ I consider the statue a artistic interpretation or exsagerstion and not a actual move. It is not one I have seen or done! ]
Thai massage is a ancient practice with orgins dating back to the doctor of the original Buddha (Lotus Palm, ; TraditionalBodywork.com, 2022). Although this person has a few names I will use Dr. Shivago here because it is the shortest and because of a beautiful recording I enjoy listening on the rare occasion Inhave set up my space with time to spare.
Dr. Shivago is sometimes attributed with the development of core components of Thai massage. The practice itself has a few names but I find Thai yoga massage seems to confuse people on occasion so I simply call it Thai massage in english and Nuad Boran in Thai. Some of these componets are traditional medicine from various regions including Ayurveda, Thai, Chinese and accupressure.
Over time these various components, such as assisted stretches within yoga posses, combined into what became a unique practice in and of itself. As far as I understand and was taught, Asokanada brought Thai massage to Europe and Kam Thye Chow brought the practice to Turtle Island (as many First Nations call this continent) around the 1980s. I was also told that Thai massage was about at the same degree of recognition now as the practice of Yoga was then.

Someone really loved seeing this today so I decided to post it. Lovely is my emotional support cat and she goes almost everywhere with me. At nap time she often likes to clutch or hold my one hand
some people seem to think ESAs don't deserve status or whatever. Dogs activate my PTSD so why would I have a service dog? I am very fortunate Lovely is accepted everywhere now but it did take some advocacy (and will). She is amazing and a natural.

I woke up to this today, well the second time I woke up today π’π»π¦πΉ
It certainly made my morning. Another friend (in the post before this one) made my afternoon. It is a very busy time for me but I am filled with gratitude and hope. I always have faith π»π€πππ

Today I got my first donation in my lengthy fund raiser. Around 25% or less than $5000 is needed urgently at startup. The rest of the money represents what I would have hopefully gotten by a loan and matching grant. The loan is more than likely not happening, which means neither is the grant.
I am doing everything I can to gather funds. Although the first donation was listed as anonymous I know exactly who it was. They did the logo(s) for practice. I am so very grateful to this dear friend forever and I miss them so very much π’π»π¦πΉ

Gathering to on the Eastern Claw of Turtle Island
06/21/2020
Foggy sunrise on the first day of summer touches the right claw of Turtle Island. Dawn of a new era where more smaller shops close up, for now, and the drones are mobilizing to supply instant desires and clean up our messes.
While some fight for equality others verbally argue on the internet about vaccine that may never exist.
I hope to practice one or more of my arts and talents in a woodland year. Have wonderful moments you love each and every day this summer, and everyday. Love is in every moment. I chose to embrace the sunshine and moonlight every chance I remember to be my true compassionate spirit.
