I didn’t start Muskoka Tallow because I had some big plan to build a skincare brand.

I started it because I was in a season of life that made me question a lot of what I had always accepted without thinking twice.

I had worked in the medical field, then stepped away to stay home with my baby. That slower season changed the way I looked at everything. Food. Ingredients. Products. What we were putting on our bodies every day. What actually felt necessary. Then I found tallow.

At first, I just wanted something simple that worked for me and my family. I talked about it constantly. Most people thought it sounded weird [fair..]. Beef fat on your face is not exactly the easiest concept to sell. But I made it anyway.

Then friends wanted some. Then their friends wanted some. Then moms started messaging me. Then orders came in. Then retailers. Then somehow this tiny idea became a whole community of people who were craving the same thing I was: less noise, better ingredients, simpler routines, and a slower way of living.

That’s still the part that means the most to me.

Muskoka Tallow has grown SO much, but the heart of it hasn’t really changed. I still want you to know what you’re putting on your skin. I still believe simple can be enough. I still think we’ve made wellness way more complicated than it needs to be.

Now, as a mom of two littles, that mission feels even bigger.

I want my kids to grow up knowing where things come from. To understand that taking care of yourself doesn’t have to look like chasing every new trend. That good food, time outside, slower mornings, quality ingredients, and a little more intention can go a long way.

This brand started with my family, but it was built by all of you.
