Life update ⬇️

Thank you so much for your votes and for placing me in the Top 3 for Best Makeup Artist 2026🥹 This just officially marked my 8th year in a row of being in the Top 3 for Best Makeup Artist.😭

This means even more to me this year than ever before and I don’t know if I can quite explain its importance at this particular time in my life.

For those of you who have been following me for awhile, you know the last 3 years have been a bumpy road.
Returning to the makeup chair 4 months ago and back to my studio full time has been the biggest challenge of my life after a very unexpected illness took away far more than my speech or mobility. It took away my livelihood, my income, my social life, and a big part of the community I had built of colleagues and fellow small business owners.

Trial of medication after medication and long periods of being bedbound or housebound left me with a weight gain I didn’t see coming and a major blow to my self-confidence.

It has been an uphill battle the past three years and yet the past four months of being back after a remission has somehow been harder.

I started to second-guess my abilities and because I didn’t quite recognize myself in the mirror, I didn’t quite feel like I fit in anymore.

But luckily for me, I have a husband, children and a small but mighty circle of friends who believe in me and believe that the best is yet to come and this acknowledgment with placing in the Top 3 again has reminded me that this chapter is far from over.

I am committed to continue serving my clients, future brides and upcoming students and I’m not afraid to admit that I needed a refresher on branding and content creation so I enlisted KELLSIE BAIN as my mentor to achieve the next goals I have for my business.

I want to keep growing and that also means growing my coaching business with more confidence as well on Ginger Turley - Certified High Performance Coach™

Next month I am also finally cleared to get back into the gym so challenge accepted to feel more like me again.🫶

As much as still photos of my clients have always been a big part of my content, my hope is to transition to showing more video clips of not only the transformation, but bts working with clients.

I'm still learning how to best capture this content while I'm in the middle of working, but continuing my education in this area is my focus over the next few months. Wish me luck😉🩷

STUDENT TRAINING UPDATE:

Last week, another student just completed my Advanced Makeup Artist Training Program! Congratulations to 🙌🎉

Grace may have been new to the beauty industry when we first met but as a quick learner, and a naturally creative person with many interests, Grace dove into this intensive and came away learning the foundational skills, the advanced techniques and an understanding of the true power of makeup.

With 8 models and two weeks of intensive training, I can't wait to see what Grace does next in this industry. Congratulations again!

Also a huge thank you to all the models, who volunteered their beautiful faces and gave up their valuable time, to allow Grace the space to learn the techniques that were needed to complete the training with me.
