Happy Monday babes✨
There has been some recent news about the beauty industry in British Columbia regarding this pandemic, so I’m going to take a minute to talk about that today. As Dr. Henry & Greg Robins have spoken- themselves & many others would like to see more regulations in this industry regarding safety & sanitization procedures. In 2003 the beauty industry was deregulated meaning extended safety training & accreditation was no longer mandatory. Now, Dr. Henry & Greg have helped to create an online BeautySafe course for anyone in the beauty/tattoo/piercing industry to be able to take as a minimum step to regulate this industry again. More information will be made public about the plans for the beauty industry re-opening on April 30th I think I read somewhere.
I believe every salon & person preforming personal services on a client should be held to a certain level of sanitization/cleanliness for their clients health & safety as well as your own.
My main goal in this industry is to help keep all of you healthy, happy & safe; that being said I have already taken my level 1 and level 2 of the online BeautySafe course to help ensure all of my amazing clients that I have taken the extra steps to stay up to date on new sanitization procedures & industry standards. I’ll take even more courses as they become available as well if that’s what needs to be. I already take the time to sanitize everything that my clients have came in contact with, or that I have pulled out for the service & maybe did not use immediately after services. This includes wiping down chairs, tables, the walls around my station if I’m at a station, having multiple sets of makeup brushes to be able to sanitize between clients if I have more than 1 back to back, I regularity wipe down all of my cosmetic packages, palettes, my case & storage inside for sponges, q-tips, etc. I use new or clean/sanitized hair clips/bands, new towels, a clean drape for all of my clients. I will also be purchasing a couple masks for myself to wear during services, for that extra step!
I can’t wait to get back to seeing your faces & bringing on those huge smiles I love to see while keeping you all healthy!💖✨ @ Kamloops, British Columbia
