After going through breast cancer, I thought I was doing everything right. I read every food label, avoided every harmful additive, and I guarded my body.

But one morning, I picked up my moisturizer, the one Iโ€™d trusted for years, and actually read the ingredients. Parabens. Synthetic fragrance. Chemicals that felt like strangers with bad intentions.

A cold wave rolled through me.

For years women were told: eat a lowโ€‘fat diet to be healthy. ๐Ÿฅ—โŒ

But when women chronically underโ€‘eat healthy fats and overall nourishment, hereโ€™s what can happen:

So, Iโ€™m sipping my coffee, minding my own business, when suddenly my feed turns into a full blown Wellness Wizard Convention. A TV doctor is swearing that pure gelatin, green tea, ginger, and turmeric are the new holy grail of weight loss.

And Iโ€™m sitting there likeโ€ฆ โ€œDid I miss a memo? Did these four ingredients unionize and decide to melt fat now?โ€

Letโ€™s break down the drama.

๐ŸŒฟ Myth #1: Green Tea = Fat Melting Potion
Facebook says: โ€œDrink this and watch the pounds fall off!โ€ Reality: Itโ€™s more like a polite little helper. A tiny metabolism nudge, maybe a bit of appetite supportโ€ฆ but definitely not the star of the show.

So continuing on from my last post, 2025 was insanely stressful with cancer stuff ๐Ÿ’—, hormones out of whack ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ and other things that life was piling on ๐Ÿ˜”, I felt like my body wasn't mine anymore. I hit my heaviest weight โš–๏ธ. Sharing this is really vulnerable ๐Ÿ’ฌ and I have been hiding behind AI posts and filters ๐Ÿคณ because I felt uncomfortable being "seen".

Then just when I thought 2026 was going to be my year to focus on my health again and my extra weight, life threw my more curveballs ๐ŸŽข. My mom's health has been declining ๐Ÿ’” and Bernard's cancer spreading ๐Ÿ’•โ€๐Ÿฉน and the wait for his treatments to start just piled on the stress and more pounds. Through all of this I upped my wine intake ๐Ÿท as a stress management treatment.

Can anyone relate ๐Ÿ˜ฃ
When stress goes up and all the things like meditation ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ, sunsets ๐ŸŒ… and self love ๐Ÿ’ž are suppose to the be the answer .... wine wins out ๐Ÿท.

IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) ran my life for years ๐Ÿ˜ฃ deciding where I could go, how long I could stay, and whether an airplane ride would be a normal flight or a full-blown anxiety event โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฌ in case the seat belt sign was on and I had skip to the lou. Never mind when we had a shortage of toilet paper due to Covid. ๐Ÿ˜ญ It was debilitating and embarrassing to talk about ๐Ÿ˜”.

I tried everything: doctors, specialists, herbs, prescriptions, gluten-free, lactose-freeโ€ฆ nothing helped ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.
