After going through breast cancer, I thought I was doing everything right. I read every food label, avoided every harmful additive, and I guarded my body.
But one morning, I picked up my moisturizer, the one Iโd trusted for years, and actually read the ingredients. Parabens. Synthetic fragrance. Chemicals that felt like strangers with bad intentions.

For years women were told: eat a lowโfat diet to be healthy. ๐ฅโ
But when women chronically underโeat healthy fats and overall nourishment, hereโs what can happen:

And Iโm sitting there likeโฆ โDid I miss a memo? Did these four ingredients unionize and decide to melt fat now?โ
Letโs break down the drama.

So continuing on from my last post, 2025 was insanely stressful with cancer stuff ๐, hormones out of whack ๐ตโ๐ซ and other things that life was piling on ๐, I felt like my body wasn't mine anymore. I hit my heaviest weight โ๏ธ. Sharing this is really vulnerable ๐ฌ and I have been hiding behind AI posts and filters ๐คณ because I felt uncomfortable being "seen".
Then just when I thought 2026 was going to be my year to focus on my health again and my extra weight, life threw my more curveballs ๐ข. My mom's health has been declining ๐ and Bernard's cancer spreading ๐โ๐ฉน and the wait for his treatments to start just piled on the stress and more pounds. Through all of this I upped my wine intake ๐ท as a stress management treatment.
Can anyone relate ๐ฃ
When stress goes up and all the things like meditation ๐งโโ๏ธ, sunsets ๐

IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) ran my life for years ๐ฃ deciding where I could go, how long I could stay, and whether an airplane ride would be a normal flight or a full-blown anxiety event โ๏ธ๐ฌ in case the seat belt sign was on and I had skip to the lou. Never mind when we had a shortage of toilet paper due to Covid. ๐ญ It was debilitating and embarrassing to talk about ๐.
I tried everything: doctors, specialists, herbs, prescriptions, gluten-free, lactose-freeโฆ nothing helped ๐ฉ.
