At some point, you stop letting every opinion have a seat at the table. 😂

I’ve spent more than 20 years in healthcare, continued my education, expanded my scope, built expertise in women’s health, hormone care and aesthetic medicine, and eventually built a clinic that reflects the kind of care I believe patients deserve.

None of that happened overnight.

There have been long days, big decisions, plenty of learning, and probably a few people along the way who had something to say about it. 👀

But when you’ve worked this hard to build a career you’re proud of, you get pretty comfortable letting the work speak for itself. 💊😂

There are a LOT of things we’ve been told about our periods that we’ve just accepted as fact. 👀

That debilitating cramps are “just part of being a woman.” That an unpredictable cycle is no big deal. That changes in your period as you get older are something you simply have to deal with. Or that your period is only relevant when you’re trying to get pregnant.

But your cycle can actually give us valuable clues about what’s happening with your hormones and overall health.
At Vitalis, we don’t look at one symptom, one period, or one lab result in isolation. We look at your cycle, symptoms, sleep, energy, mood, health history, medications, stage of life and appropriate lab testing to get a better picture of what may be going on.

Because when your period starts changing, the answer shouldn’t automatically be “that’s normal, just live with it.”

Let’s separate the period myths from what your body may actually be trying to tell you. 👀

We talk a lot about losing collagen as we age, but what about hyaluronic acid? 👀

Your skin naturally produces hyaluronic acid, but those levels start changing surprisingly early. Research suggests HA loss can begin around age 25, and by age 60 we lose about half our skins HA production.

Why does that matter? HA is one of the molecules responsible for helping your skin bind and retain water. As HA changes with age, it can contribute to the dryness, loss of elasticity and less plump appearance we associate with aging skin

This is one of the reasons we love EXION.

EXION uses controlled radiofrequency energy to support the skin’s natural regenerative processes, including collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production.

It can be used to address:

• Fine lines
• Skin laxity
• Crepey texture
• Hydration + overall skin quality

And the best part for anyone who isn’t exactly thrilled by needles? There aren’t any.

Rather than adding volume or injecting HA into the skin, EXION is about encouraging your skin to do more of what it already knows how to do.

Think your skin could use a little reminder? Book your EXION consultation at Vitalis.

When someone hears “increased risk of breast cancer,” the immediate reaction is usually, *Nope. I don’t want that.

And we get it. Those words sound scary.

But that glass of w**e every night? Each additional alcoholic drink per day has been associated with about a 7% increase in breast cancer risk.

Not a big fan of exercise? Women who are the most physically active have been shown to have about a 12–21% lower risk of breast cancer than those who are least active.

Love a good steak? Some research has also linked higher red meat consumption with a modest increase in breast cancer risk.

Does that mean you need to cut out alcohol completely, start training for a marathon and live on chicken breasts?

Of course not.

The point is that so many things in life carry some degree of risk.

But for more than two decades, the conversation around hormone replacement therapy for women has been so heavily centred around breast cancer risk that many women hear “hormones” and immediately think dangerous.

The reality is much more nuanced than that.

The type of hormones matters. How long you take them matters. Your age matters. When you start matters. Your personal and family history matters. And your individual baseline risk matters.

This isn’t about pretending BHRT carries zero risk. It’s about putting that risk into perspective and having a conversation based on the evidence we have today, rather than fear that has followed hormone therapy for decades.

At Vitalis, we believe women deserve to understand both the risks and the benefits so they can make an informed decision about what’s right for them.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that’s the conversation we want to have. 🎀

Don’t worry, your secret is safe with us. 😂💉

Men are increasingly interested in aesthetic treatments, even if some are still a little quieter about admitting it.

Wrinkle-relaxing treatments can be used to soften expression lines while still maintaining natural movement and the features that make you look like you.

And men’s facial anatomy, muscle strength, movement patterns, and aesthetic goals can be different, which is why treatment should be planned specifically for the individual rather than following a standard injection pattern.

Wanting to look refreshed doesn’t need a cover story.

But if anyone asks… sure, you were here for your testosterone shot. 👀

Pelvic floor health isn’t just a women’s health conversation. Men, you have one too. 👀

Your pelvic floor plays an important role in bladder control, sexual function and pelvic stability. And just like any other muscle group, it can weaken or change with age, certain health conditions, or following prostate treatment or surgery.

The difference? This workout doesn’t require gym clothes.

EMSELLA uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology to stimulate thousands of pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain **fully clothed and comfortably seated.**

Strengthening the pelvic floor may help support:

• Better bladder control and urinary leakage
• Pelvic floor function following appropriate prostate care
• Sexual function, including erectile function, for some men
• Greater pelvic floor strength and control
•Decreased night wakening to void

And yes, you really do just sit there. Sessions are non-invasive, require no downtime, and you can get right back to your day afterward.

Of course, pelvic floor symptoms aren’t one-size-fits-all. Urinary, prostate and sexual health concerns can have different underlying causes, which is why a proper assessment matters before deciding on treatment.

Curious whether EMSELLA could be right for you? Book a consultation at Vitalis.

If your “diet” has you hungry, irritable, thinking about food all day, and suddenly annoyed by the sound of everyone chewing… we might need to rethink the strategy. 😂

Yes, weight loss requires a calorie deficit. But how you get there matters, especially if you want results you can actually maintain.

Because a plan that makes you miserable might work for a few days or weeks, but if you can’t imagine living that way long term, what happens when the “diet” ends?
At Vitalis, medically supported weight loss is about finding an approach that fits into your actual life. We look at appetite, metabolic health, nutrition, protein intake, movement, sleep, hormones when clinically relevant, and the habits that can help make your progress sustainable.

For appropriate patients, medication may also be one tool within a medically supervised plan.

The goal isn’t to eat as little as possible, give up everything you enjoy, or spend your entire day thinking about food. It’s to create an approach that supports weight loss without making you miserable in the process, while also prioritizing your health, muscle mass, and relationship with food.

Because losing the weight is one thing. Building a way of living that helps you maintain it is the part that really matters. And if everyone is chewing too loudly by day three… we should probably talk. 👀

Some of the changes we notice in our skin over time come back to one thing: the structures that keep it looking firm, hydrated, and resilient are changing too.

Collagen production naturally declines with age, and changes in elastin and hyaluronic acid can contribute to skin that feels thinner, less firm, or simply different than it used to.

So when we decided to bring a new technology into Vitalis, we did our homework.

As an NP, what the science has to say matters to me. We researched the technologies available, looked at the evidence behind them, and chose a device we felt aligned with the way we want to treat skin at Vitalis.

That’s where EXION RF comes in.

Rather than adding volume or changing your features, EXION RF works with the skin’s own regenerative processes. It can be incorporated into a treatment plan when we’re looking to improve overall skin quality, support firmness, soften the appearance of fine lines, or take a more proactive approach to collagen loss.

Because bringing something new into the clinic isn’t about having the newest machine. It’s about choosing technology for a reason.
And because every face ages differently, where we treat and how we approach it should be individualized too.

Curious if EXION belongs in your skin plan? Book a consultation at Vitalis.

We know cancellation policies aren’t anyone’s favourite topic. But they’re an important part of being able to provide the kind of care we want to offer at Vitalis.

Our appointments are intentionally scheduled to give you time to ask questions, be properly assessed, discuss your options, and receive care without feeling rushed.

That time is valuable for you, for our providers, and for the patients hoping to get an appointment.

Giving us as much notice as possible when plans change helps our schedule work better for everyone and allows us to continue protecting the time we dedicate to each patient.

We will continue to uphold our cancellation policy consistently and fairly, as the policy exists to protect everyone’s time, not to penalize anyone.

Life will always happen, and we understand that. A little communication goes a long way.

Swipe through for a different perspective on why our 48-hour cancellation policy matters.

If Sculptra can make your face look fuller and more supported over time… isn’t that basically filler? 👀

Not quite.

Traditional HA filler works by putting volume where we want volume. The product itself is creating that immediate shape and support.

Sculptra takes a different route. Instead of simply adding volume, it works as a collagen biostimulator, encouraging your body to gradually produce more of its own collagen after treatment.

And that’s really the magic of it. Over the weeks and months that follow, that new collagen can help restore support, improve firmness and soften some of the changes that happen as we naturally lose collagen and facial volume with age.

That little bit of fullness you see right after your appointment? A lot of that is from the water used to prepare Sculptra, and it settles.
The result we’re actually waiting for takes time. We’re talking months, not minutes. 🧬

So while Sculptra and filler can sometimes get us to similar places, how they get us there is very different.

Curious which approach makes more sense for your goals? Book a consultation at Vitalis and we’ll build a plan around you.
