Meet Kyla Todd(artist), Shari Doseger (artist), Alain Doseger(author), and Benjamin Spadzinski(photographer), community leaders sharing powerful stories of humanity and resilience from who have experienced homelessness.

This intersectional exhibit, featured at the The Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, brings together art and storytelling that highlights the diverse social identities and lived experiences of people in our community. Through portraits and narratives, we are reminded that every person has a story worth hearing and that dignity and belonging matter.

One of the most meaningful parts of the exhibit was seeing individuals featured in the portraits present at the event and hearing how services like Lionhearts continue to make a real difference in the lives of so many.

Initiatives like this challenge stigma while creating space for deeper understanding about housing, community care, and the importance of ensuring that everyone in Kingston has access to safe and supportive housing.

Grateful for the opportunity to witness such meaningful work and for the message of hope it brings to our city.

On Friday, I had the privilege of attending the Kingston Prayer Breakfast.

It was a powerful time to gather with faith leaders, first responders, city officials, business owners, and community members who all contribute to making Kingston the welcoming and caring city that so many of us are proud to call home.

Moments like this remind me how important it is for people across sectors like faith, public service, business, and community leadership, to come together around shared values of service, compassion, and hope for our city.

From the meaningful conversations during networking to the inspiring presenters and moments of reflection, my heart was truly full.

Thank you to the organizers and planners who brought everyone together for such a thoughtful event. Spaces like this strengthen relationships and remind us what is possible when people care deeply about the wellbeing and future of our community.

I’m grateful to continue listening, learning, and engaging with people across Kingston who are committed to building a strong and thriving city for everyone.
